     David Michael "Mike" Thackston David Michael “Mike” Thackston, 68, of Roanoke, was called to be with the Lord, on Friday, January, 27, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Thackston; four children (and spouses), Troy, Lorrie, David “Buddie”, Chris; nine grandchildren, Cole, Cody, Troy, Haley, Shane, Elijah, Hayley, Tedi Rose, Piper Lili; mother-in-law, Dorothy Gowen; brother, Leonard and his wife Marie and their children; best friend, David; and extended family and friends.⁴ He was born on August 17, 1948 at South Carolina.³ He married Carolyn Marie Gowen, daughter of Raymond Thaxton Gowen Sr. and Dorothy Mae Dixon, on August 13, 1984 at Campbell Co., Virginia.^1,2,3,4 David Michael "Mike" Thackston died on January 27, 2017 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 68.⁴

Mrs. Custer's memory will be carried on by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Webb, Catawba, Wanda and Philip Keffer, New Castle, Cathy and J.L. Wall, Blacksburg, Ruth and Steve O'Roark, Lawrenceville, Ga; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Dianna Custer, Catawba, Michael and Anita Custer, Catawba; also 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Custer is also survived by sisters, Viola Cox, Marie Dalton, Janie Vance, Betty Pippin, Margie Shipes, Sharon Newman; and brothers, Marion Gowen and Sam Gowen, Jr. Interment will follow in Brillhart Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mrs. Custer 's church family at Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime devoted member. We would like to thank Danielle Stanley, granddaughter, for her special love and care along with Medi-Home Health & Hospice, especially Susan Williams, who provided wonderful care and support. A special thanks to friend and caregiver, Donna Law, who took such good care of "Maw-Maw" during her last days. on January 13, 2005.⁷

     Matilda Carrie "Tilda" "Tildy" Gray was buried at Drumright North Cemetery, Drumright, Creek Co., Oklahoma.⁶ Her Social Security Number was 447-01-5115.⁷ She was born on December 3, 1894 at Indian Territory.^1,7,6 As of December 25, 1916,her married name was Overdeer.⁴ She married James Onboy "Jim" Overdeer on December 25, 1916 at Coal Co., Oklahoma.⁴ Matilda Carrie "Tilda" "Tildy" Gray died on November 30, 1985 at Oklahoma at age 90.^7,6

     Her Social Security Number was 444-26-7908.⁷ Helen Maxine Overdeer Helen Maxine Rice went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2005 at the age of 87 years. She was born on January 28, 1918 in Amarillo Texas to Jim and Matilda Overdeer. Helen moved to Drumright as a small child and was raised there, graduating from Drumright High School. Helen was a member of the Assembly of God Church from the time she was a small child. She taught Jr. boys class in Sunday school for 20 years. Helen was a LPN at Cushing Regional Hospital for over 30 years and a member of Pioneer Club. After retirement she was a very active member at the Cushing Senior Citizen Center and with the Cushing Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Matilda; husband Raymond; sister, Lois Combs and brother, James Overdeer. She is survived by a sister Theda Smith; sister-in-law Fern Overdeer; her baby boys Loyd, Jim and Vernon; three daughters-in-law Marie Ann, Sandra and Sherry; ten grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was a very loving mother and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all. We love and miss you. Services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church, Cushing. She was born in West Virginia on February 3, 1935, to the late Raymond and Frances Thompson Pigg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Leroy Price. She was a longtime member of Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years. She was a beloved mother, Nana, sister and faithful friend. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jerry Johnston, of Riner; a granddaughter, Amanda Johnston; a grandson, Ben Johnston, both of Riner; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bon and Theron Amborn, of Michigan City, Ind., and Mickie and Dan Springer, of Manito, Ill; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Leah Pigg, of Montcalm, W.Va., and Johnny and Angie Pigg, of Rock, W.Va; a sister-in-law, Bess Price, of Roanoke; numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives; and special friends, Gayle and Don Linkous, Amy and Wayne Myers, Virginia Linkous and Hazel Linkous. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2008, in the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and the Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Thursday, February 7, 2008, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va. on February 7, 2008.¹
