Coleman died on April 12, 1936 at Mazon, Grundy Co., Illinois, at age 73.3,1,2 She MAZON, April 13. - Mrs. Mary Likens, widely known Mazon women, died Sunday evening at 5 o'clock at her home here after an illness of one week with pneumonia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home and at 3 o'clock from the Methodist church. Rev. V. H. Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Mazon cemetery. Surviving are two children, Jesse of Mazon, Will, of Riverside, Ill., three sisters, Mrs. Iva Gard, Riverside, Mrs. Jas. Barger, Morris, Mrs. Joanna Raxworthy, Portland, Ore., a brother, Will Coleman, Athens, O., five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her husband, Joseph Likens and two children preceded her in death, Mr. Likens passing away six years ago. Mrs. Likens was born September 2, 1862 in Athens, O. When a young girl, she moved to West Virginia with her parents and wedded Joseph Likens there in 1874. Mr. and Mrs. Likens shortly later came to Mazon, residing here up to the time of their death. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church and friend of scores, who will regret to learn of her demise. She was a flower fancier, and took intense pride in a beautiful garden which she maintained at her home. on April 13, 1936.2

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Olive M; two sisters , Ruth Radke, Brookfield, Ill., and Virginia Parizek, North Riverside, Ill; and a niece, Elizabeth Moburg, Lake Forest, Ill. Radke will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, in Brookfield United Methodist Church, 3541 Park Ave. Mrs. Radke, 88, a Brookfield resident for 40 years and formerly of Cicero, died Dec. 17 (2001) in MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Col. Bill", who wrote a travel and outdoors column for Life Newspapers and included her insights and observations. Mrs. Radke also ran Liken Dry Good Shop of Riverside, which was a family-owned business for 70 years. She attended Hauser Grade School in Riverside and Riverside-Brookfield High School. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Moburg and Jill Malik, a former Morton College trustee; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. on December 26, 2001.5
