She was also preceded in death by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lobeda "Penney" and Ronald Foutt and Patricia and Freddie Grounds. Lobeda is survived by her son, William "Butch" Buckner of Florida; sister, Ellen (Denver) Jarrett of Paint Creek; and brother, Jimmy Canterbury of Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amy (Jimmy) Cooper of Elkview, Ronnie Bowles II of Charleston, RL (Tammy) Foutt of Bim, Jodie (Daniel) Clifford of Prosperity and Scott (Lynne) Buckner of Florida; nine great-grandchildren, Smer, Jessica and Noah Cooper of Elkview, Courtney, Zoe and Sophie Foutt of Bim, Christian Clifford of Prosperity, Brendi Martin of Florida and Jocelyn Bail of Florida; and one great-great-grandchild of Florida. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and church family. Lobeda loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. She attended Christ Temple Church of Winifrede. She was a faithful servant to the Lord. She was a witness to anyone she encountered and would always tell them what God has done and could do. She was a true lady and loved her family dearly. She prayed tirelessly for them and others, never once thinking of herself. The world will be a darker place without her in it. She will be deeply missed by her family, brothers and sisters in Christ and everyone who knew her. Lobeda and family would like to extend a thank you to the entire staff of Hospice, Dr. Phillips and staff, Dr. Atassi and staff, the staff of the Kmart pharmacy in Kanawha City and the women of the church; you all made life a little easier. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, at Christ Temple Church, Winifrede, with Pastor Jack Long officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank. The family would like to invite friends and family to a dinner at Winifrede Presbyterian Church immediately following the burial. on November 8, 2012.8

She loved everyone and would do anything to help her neighbors. She was the first one to come to the aid of anyone in need. She loved to travel and meet new people, although she never met a stranger. She also loved to cook (and eat). Her greatest joy was cooking a big meal and having all her family home. She was a published author, a great storyteller and loved practical jokes. She was a sister in the Evening Rose Rebekah Lodge No. 15. She also loved the companionship of her dog "Milo". She loved her Lord, her family and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; sons, Frank and Dale; and grandson, Bobby Coleman. She is survived by four children, Billie O'Neal and husband Buss of Crown Hill, Wanda Elswick of Hansford, Ronnie Petry and husband Butch of Hurricane, and Anthony Elswick and wife Lois of Fredericksburg, Va; daughters-in-law, Lana Elswick of Hazelton, Pa., and Sherrie Elswick of East Bank. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 14 (with two on the way) great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty and husband Gerald Atkins of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Gloria and husband Larry McFadden of Baltimore, Md; as well as special nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by our loving family and a host of friends. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the help provided to us at CAMC Memorial emergency room. A tribute to the life of Margaret will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Johnson-Harding Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Stan Holmes officiating. Entombment will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Mrs. Adkins was a member of The Order of Eastern Star Kanawha #38 and Winyah #148. She was past Worthy Matron of both chapters as well as past Grand Representative to Quebec and British Columbia. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending her free time with family, friends, and her special kitties, Buddy and Tommy. Surviving are her daughter, Rita A. Hutchinson (Al) of Pawleys Island; 2 grandchildren, Tara Clemmons (Steve) of North Myrtle Beach and Tawnya Sherer (Duncan) of Myrtle Beach; three great grandchildren, Harrison, Carter, and Taylor; a sister, Gloria Faye McFadden (Larry) of Baltimore; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband of 68 years, she was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Elswick. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the mausoleum at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. on February 3, 2016.3

She attended Cannelton Assembly of God Church. Clara was a direct descendant of William Morris, the first permanent settler in the Kanawha Valley and eligible for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Clara is survived by her sons, Bobby Pauley and his wife, Sandy, and Leon Pauley, and his wife, Carolyn "Katy", all of Cannelton; daughters, Carol Stover and her husband, Bobby, of Cannelton, Joann Jarvis and her companion, Bud Bulmer of Alta, Bonnie Croft and her husband, Butch, of Gauley Bridge, Peggy Jackson and her husband, Gerald, of Montgomery and her niece, whom she adopted, Robin Perry McClure of Eleanor; brother, Ray McClure and his wife, Joanne of Hansford; sisters, Verna Foster and her husband, Jack, of East Bank; and sister-in-law, Jean McClure of Riverside; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several step-great- and step-great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special double-cousin, Margaret Elswick and husband, Bill, of Hansford. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Cannelton Assembly of God with the Rev. Leonard Nichols and the Rev. Joseph Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery.
