Donald Arthur Huffman was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2880 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.2 He Donald Arthur Huffman was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on April 18, 1941 to Arthur Lee and Viola Lovern Huffman and died December 13, 2023. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Barker Huffman and his former wife, Martha Oliver Huffman; two brothers, Audrey Lee Huffman and Danny Ray Huffman; and granddaughter, Cordelia Elizabeth Huffman. He is survived by two sons, Cory Stewart Huffman and Jon Michael Huffman and his wife Jennifer Sickles Huffman; his granddaughter, Kaylee Jayne Huffman; his daughter, Jennifer White and her husband George; two sisters, Linda Phillips and her husband Hoyt, and Wanda Wright and her husband Jimmy; and two sisters-in law, Sue Huffman and Kathy Huffman. Don spent four years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Texas and Alaska. While serving at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, he witnessed the largest earthquake registered in the United States, known as the Great Alaska Earthquake and the Good Friday Earthquake. The quake measured 9.2 in magnitude on March 27, 1964. Don was recognized by the Air Force for his actions during the earthquake disaster period of March 27-29, 1964. Don volunteered to enter the Anchorage Alaska Communication System Toll Building, which had been declared unsafe and perform the emergency duties of telephone operator. He remained on duty day and night to provide essential communications during a period of great need. Don and Joanne were avid Hokie Football fans. They had season tickets and never missed a home game. They also traveled to many away and bowl games. Even after they could not go to the stadium, they watched all televised games. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.2 He was born on April 18, 1941 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.1,3,2 He married Martha Anne Oliver, daughter of Sidney Lee Oliver and Dorothy Virginia Slusser, on June 4, 1965 at Blacksburg, Virginia.1,2 Donald Arthur Huffman and Martha Anne Oliver were divorced on October 1, 1980 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 Donald Arthur Huffman died on December 13, 2023 at Virginia at age 82.2

Carol Elaine Robertson Carol Elaine Oliver, 75 of Salem, Va passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Born, in New Castle, VA on Friday, September 2, 1949, to the late William Wilson Robertson and Gladys Virginia Belle Carper Robertson. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Paul Terry Oliver; daughter, Noelle Oliver (Trina), and son, Travis Oliver (Katie); siblings, Jimmy Robertson (Peggy), Bobby Robertson (Barbara Jean), and Linda Lee (the late Bill Lee); grandchildren, Jackson Taylor, Levi Taylor, Trenton Oliver, Miles Oliver, and Brix Oliver; and special friends Donna Owen and Karen Sloan. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to The Good Samaritan Hospice team for their outstanding care and support. A special thank you goes to Abigail, whose dedication to meeting Carol's needs truly went above and beyond. He was employed by Concrete Specialties in Roanoke where he served as vice-president and general manager for many years. He was also an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Evelyn Nester; a brother, Robert Nester; and a sister, Carolyn Webb. Surviving family includes his wife, Ricki L. Nester; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa D. and Russell Belcher, Tammi N. and Tim Gearhart, Tonya and Petty Officer Matthew West; and three beautiful grandchildren, Dustin Edward Belcher, Ashley Marie and Chad Edward Gearhart; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond H. and Linda Nester; a sister-in-law, Sandy Nester; numerous nieces and nephews; and many close and devoted friends. The family would like to thank Drs. Nelson Greene, Mark Currie, David Randolph and their staffs for the care and compassion shown to Donald. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. on November 7, 2003.4
