He served his country by working in the shipyard before going into the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was proud of his plumbing business of 23 years, and was retired from Roanoke City as a Plumbing and Mechanical Inspector. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel by Rev. Bill Doss with burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel. The Holland family wishes to thank Dr. Phillip Shiner and staff, Carilion Hospice, and Carilion Cancer Center for all of their care.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Roanoke with the Rev. Paul Sink officiating.
