He was a Navy veteran of World War II. In the late 1930's he worked for Elk River Coal and Lumber Co. at the company store in Dundon, W.Va. He retired from Union Carbide Corporation, South Charleston Plant with 40 1/2 years of service after working as a production supervisor in the Polyethylene Unit and as a supervisor in the environmental control department. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Lasca Kelly Hamrick; daughter and son-in-law, Sondra Lee and Larry Stephens of Buchanan Dam, Texas; son, Kenneth Wayne of St. Albans; sisters, June Kniseley of Roane County, W.Va., and Jeanette Pitsenbarger of Huron, Ohio; granddaughters, Kelly Blanscet of Cedar Park, Texas, and Randi Stephens of Bacliff, Texas; great-granddaughter, Kelsey Blanscet of Cedar Park, Texas; and great-grandson, Kristofer Blanscet of Cedar Park, Texas. Funeral service will be at at Cunningham Memorial Park, Upper Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will follow after the funeral service. on December 18, 2003.1

Lasca was born in Morgantown on April 18, 1921, and was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Kelly and Nora Belle Kaufman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth; her daughter, Tina Norene; brothers, Oren, Kess, and Rox; and sisters, Inez, Audra, Neva, Getsell, Madrid, Oma and Swaneda. She is survived by her daughter, Sondra Lee Stephens and husband, Larry, of Buchanan Dam, Texas; son, Kenneth Wayne of St. Albans; granddaughters, Kelly Blanscet of Cedar Park, Texas, and Randi Stephens of Buchanan Dam, Texas; great-granddaughter, Kelsey Blanscet of Cedar Park, Texas; and great-grandson, Kristofer Blanscet of Cedar Park, Texas. With a strong work ethic and uncompromising principles, Lasca devoted her life caring for her family. She was an excellent cook and an expert seamstress. She had a gift for home decorating and a passion for plants, especially flowers. But, most of all, she enjoyed keeping her home. After rearing her children, Lasca took up bowling at Venture Lanes, St. Albans. She bowled routinely until the age of 76 in various leagues including the Venturette Ladies (team, Peppermint Patties) and the Kilowatt Mixed (team, Jokers). Lasca loved people and many were drawn by her kind demeanor. She was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all. The funeral service will be held at Cunningham Memorial Park Upper Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will follow in the memorial park.A very special thank you goes to Sherri Daily and her staff for the wonderful care and love she received at Belle's Assisted Living Home. on December 31, 2009.2

He was born July 7, 1924, in Braxton County, W.Va., a son of the late James and Audra Kelly Kniseley. He was a 1943 Stonewall Jackson High School graduate and served in the Army Air Force during World War II where he served in the China/India/Burma Theatre. After the war, he enjoyed varied employment during his life including working for Union Carbide, IBM, Compact Sweeper Sales and operating a trucking business while in Kanawha County. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Malden. After moving to Roane County, W.Va., he was a self-employed timberman, dealt in real estate, and served as a Roane County sheriffs deputy. He enjoyed piloting his own plane for many years and recently served as a volunteer co-conductor for the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad's Durbin Rocket Train in Durbin, W.Va. He was a member of the Malden Methodist Church in Kanawha County and attended several other churches. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, June Kniseley; two sons, Donald Lee Kniseley of Brunswick, Maine, and Richard Kim Kniseley and his wife, Connie, of Roanoke, Va; one daughter, Teresa Kip DeVault and her husband, Warren, of Leon, W.Va; two grandsons, Aaron Kniseley of Brunswick, and Marshall Kniseley of Roanoke; two granddaughters, Rachel and Kristin DeVault, both of Leon; and one sister, Mary Elwood of Hamson, Mich.      Marion Junior Pitsenbarger Marion J. Pitsenbarger, age 85, residing in Huron, passed away early Saturday morning May 5, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness. Marion was born on August 15, 1926, in Bingham, W. Va., to Marion E. and Vergie E. (Nutter) Pitsenbarger. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War stationed in Germany. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1984 after 28 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Marion enjoyed the outdoors especially gardening and camping and spent much of his time working on his car, and jig saw puzzles, he most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Marion is survived by his wife Jeanette (Hamrick), whom he married on August 15, 1960; his daughter, Myrna and (Edward) Crubaugh of Norwalk; three grandchildren, Benny, Blain and Cory; one brother, L. Carl Pitsenbarger of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Including his parents Marion was preceded in death by one sister Eunice Mannings; and four brothers, Olen L., Jennings, George G. and Loren R. Pitsenbarger. Services in the Chapel Mausoleum in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. He was the father of Neil Boggs, staff writer for The Gazette. Patrolman J. W. Fenimore and H. W. Summerfield of the South Charleston city police quoted witnesses that Mr. Boggs was standing at the east end of the overpass on U. S. Rt. 60 waiting for a bus when the left front tire blew out on a light truck going west on the highway. The tire rim from the truck flew across the road, struck the safety island, and hit Mr. Bogg's on the neck, the officers said. He was dead when brought to a South Charleston hospital. No arrest was made in connection with the accident, the officers added. The body is at Snodgrass Mortuary in South Charleston. Mr. Boggs had been principal of Piney Point Elementary School at Kanawha Two Mile for the past two years. For about 20 years he had taught in schools in Clay and Kanawha Counties. He attended Morris Harvey, Glenville State and West Virginia Tech colleges. During World War II he was the chief clerk at the Clay County Selective Service Board at Clay. Since the end of the spring school term, he had been working as a carpenter for a cousin, Anderson Boggs, a contractor at Bownemont. He was a member of the Emmanual Baptist Church in Charleston, the West Virginia Education Assoc. and the Masonic Lodge at Clay. Mr. Boggs was born in Looneyville, Roane County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Boggs, who now reside at Porter, Clay County. Also surviving are his wife, Rhoda Paxton Boggs, a daughter, Joyce, at home; two other sons, Clifford, with the U.S. Navy at Portsmouth, Va., and Warren of 908 1/2 Mell St; eight brothers, Clyde of Baltimore, Md., Alvah of Maysel, Glen of Jacksonville, Fla., Dennis of Silver Spring, Md., Ray of Falls Church, Va., Ira, Waitman and Cornelius, all of Porter, and Guy of Tyler Mountain; and a sister, Mrs. Ona Meadows of Akron, O. on July 9, 1950.4

     Neil P. Boggs Neil Boggs former NBC Newsman, one-time moderator of television's "Meet The Press" with Edward Newman in the 1960's. Neil worked as a Press Officer during the Korean War. In 1960 he covered the Presidential Campaign, and interviewed then presidential candidate John F. Kennedy. Neil was political reporter in Washington D.C. for 19 years. He covered pivotal American history, from the civil rights struggle, to the nuclear testing in Nevada. He retired in 1985 to New Mexico, and taught journalism at UNM. He was living in Belen, NM when he passed away.5 He Neil P. Boggs, of Belen, NM, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Rhoda Boggs; his brothers, Warren and Clifford; and his sister, Joyce Chalmers. He is survived by his nieces, Karen Mings, Valerie Heikes Cary, and Kay Boggs-Mishler; and his nephews Brian Boggs, Robert Chalmers, and Stuart Boggs and their families. Per Neil's wishes, no funeral will be held, but a private scattering will be held on a private date by the Kent family.4 He was born on June 21, 1929 at Clay Co., West Virginia.1 He died on August 4, 2015 at Valencia Co., New Mexico, at age 86.4

     Michael Jay Boggs Michael (Mike) Boggs, 64, of Mt. Croghan, South Carolina, formerly of Clay, entered into rest Sunday, December 21, 2008. He was born September 23, 1944, to the late Warren and Rachel (Shearer) Boggs. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Boggs. Michael was a retired construction worker. He is survived by two daughters, Rachael Boggs of Pageland, SC and Michelle Frigan of Attleboro, MA; brother, Stewart Boggs of Lexington, KY; sister, Kay Mishler, Indiana, and two grandchildren. She was the wife of Michael J. Boggs, to whom she was married on Feb. 18, 1972. Born Oct. 6, 1950, in Taunton, she was a daughter of Elaine M. (Charbonneau) Corbeil of Mansfield and the late Donald J. Corbeil. Raised and educated in Attleboro, she was a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School. Education was always very important to her and she continued her education by receiving her teaching degree from the former Framingham State College and earned two master's degrees in education from the University of South Carolina. A resident of South Carolina for the past 17 years, she had previously lived in Clay, West Virginia from 1974 to 1990. She recently returned to Massachusetts to be with her entire family as she faced illness with courage and bravery. For the past 17 years, Mrs. Boggs worked for the Chesterfield County School District in South Carolina where she was currently employed as a school administrator and vice principal of Pageland Elementary School. In earlier years while living in Attleboro, she was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. An ardent gardener, Mrs. Boggs was well known in her neighborhood for her "green thumb" and the beautiful flower boxes that included her favorites - petunias and impatiens, among others. Besides her husband of 35 years and her mother, she leaves two daughters, Susan "Michelle" Frigon and her husband, Jason W. Frigon, of North Attleboro and Rachael M. Boggs and her companion of many years, Gary "Bruce" Douglas, of Mount Croghan, S.C; a brother, Richard Corbeil of Attleboro; a sister, Susan O'Neil and her husband, Michael O'Neil, of Foxboro; a granddaughter, Saoirse Frigon of North Attleboro; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, colleagues and present and past admiring students. Funeral services were held in Clay, West Virginia. Burial followed in Reed Cemetery, Clay, W.Va. on June 29, 2007.2
