Survivors include two sons, Phil Reed and his wife, Janice of Blacksburg, and Gary Reed and his wife, Connie of Woodlands, Texas; four grandchildren, Rick Reed, Kelly Stanley and her husband, Joseph, all of Blacksburg, Chris Reed and his wife, Megan and Rebecca Reed, all of Houston, Texas; one sister, Faye Crook of Hinton; and one brother, Talmadge Reed of Hinton. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with the Rev. Walt Mullins and the Rev. Kathern Mullins officiating. Survivors include two sons, Doug Reed and wife, Becky, of Covington, Va., and David Reed and wife, Ellen, of Hinton; two daughters, Betty Crook and husband, Orville, of Chesapeake, Va., and Jane Ratliff and husband, Jerry, of Covington, Ga; two brothers, Talmadge Reed of Hinton and Archie Reed of Blacksburg, Va; his twin sister, Faye Crook of Hinton; nine grandchildren, Terry Ratliff, Pam Swords, Angie Dymaeek, Jeff Crook, Stephanie Creasy, Greg and Chris Reed, Victoria Dick, and Mike Reed; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor William Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens. Talmadge was the last member of his immediate family. He is survived by two sons, Kenny Reed and wife, Darlene, of Wise, Va., and Bobby Reed and wife, Linda, of Hinton; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Paul Dean Coffman of Hinton. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, with Pastors Bobby Reed and Eddie Crews officiating.
