Richard had a great love of baseball and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He was a gentle soul with a kind heart. He was dedicated to his wife of 64 years and was beloved by his friends and family. Richard was a devout Christian and remained active in the church throughout his life. He worked for 10 years at Appalachian Power and 25 years at Dupont. He will be greatly missed, but know he is healed and playing guitar on the other side waiting for his bride. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, with Pastor Stan Parris and Pastor Bobby Young officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. on November 9, 2021.6

Shirley passed away peacefully the evening of Friday, January 8, 2021 with the love of his family surrounding him. Shirley was born to William Dalton Campbell and Lillie Hicks Campbell on September 2, 1935, in Redwood, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Thurman; brothers-in-law, Franklin Furrow, Percy Furrow, Sherman A. Furrow Jr., Paul Waldrop; sister-in-law, Belvie Furrow; and son-in-law, Jeff Sink. Shirley is survived by his loving wife, Lois Furrow Campbell; daughter, Teresa Sink; sons, Wendel Campbell, Robert Campbell (Theresa); daughter, Sara Herbst (Sterling); five grandchildren, Cameron and Meagan Campbell, Traci Lavinder (Aaron) and Joel Sink, and Jake Herbst. Also surviving are two sisters, Dalphia Furrow and Linda Waybright; sisters-in-law, Clara Eanes (Richard) and Francis Waldrop; and brother-in-law, Wayne Furrow (Poppy). Many cherished nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive. As a boy and even as a young man, Shirley was very active and enjoyed playing baseball. Shirley met the love of his life, Lois, at the Mount Theater in Rocky Mount and they were married on March 9, 1957 and were inseparable for 63 years. Shirley owned and operated Campbell's Service Station and Grocery in Redwood from 1957 to 1982 while also driving a school bus for 22 years. He retired as a building supply employee after 25 years of service. Shirley lived his entire life in Redwood, Va. and was very supportive and giving to neighbors and members of the community. He was kind-hearted and would always help anyone in need. Shirley was a family man who loved gathering with relatives. He was a dedicated husband and father and he lived his life to best provide for them. In later years, Shirley enjoyed bowling and golf and was a regular fixture around the community of Redwood. Until the very end he always loved children and enjoyed watching and interacting with his grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted by Flora Funeral Service. A private viewing will be held for immediate family on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 4 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Franklin Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 2 p.m. with Clayton Payne officiating. on January 11, 2021.5

Bel lived a wonderful life with her husband of 46 years, Percy Kyrus Furrow. They have one son, Michael Shannon (Chelsea Boyd) Furrow; two daughters, Wanda Gail Shively and Marcella Renee Ledbetter. There was no doubt that she loved her grandchildren, Joseph Washburn, Amanda (Joey) Smith, Tiffany Furrow, Joshua "Bo" Ledbetter, Antoinette "Toine" Shively, Brandon Furrow, Quintin Shively and Michaela Furrow; one very special greatgrandchild, Brayden Smith; one brother, Harrison (Tina) Hall; three sisters, Sadie (Bobby) Crum, Mary (Glen) Gillispie, and Linda Philpott; many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends; also a very special pet, Lucy. Bel was an employee of Franklin County Public Schools, driving a school bus for 24 years, and a custodian for Ferrum Elementary for 14 years. Even though she only had three children of her own every child she met became her own. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone and never complained. She was a longtime member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church where the church family was like her own. Funeral Services will be conducted from Furnace Creek Baptist Church 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2010, with the Rev. Mike Lawhorn and the Rev. Nicholas Varnado officiating. Belvie will be laid to rest with her parents in the Hall Family Cemetery in Ferrum. A fellowship meal will be served at the church for family and friends following the burial. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Furnace Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, James W. Flinchum, Roanoke; her daughters, Mary O. Shelor, and Dolores M. Berry, both of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel, 12 noon, Thursday, January 11, 1996, with Rev. John Ott officiating. Interment in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
