Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. on March 29, 2000.⁷

     Don Anthony Brown Don A. Brown, March 25, 1958 - June 6, 2020. Don Anthony Brown, 62, passed away peacefully June 6, 2020. He was born, a son of Charles R. Brown, Sr. (deceased) and Freeda H. Brown. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Stafford and Florence Brown; Kermit and Lucy Holcomb. Surviving are two brothers, Charles R. Brown, Jr. (Peggy) and Carl W. Brown; two sisters, Susan B. Rea (Terry) and Linda B. Davis (Mike); two nephews, Bobby G. Rea (Stephanie), Stephen C. Brown; one great-nephew, Ethan L. Rea. Don retired from the Rocky Mount Police Department after 30 years of service. He continued working as an auxiliary officer. As a police officer, community servant and biker, he touched many lives in many different settings. His family would like to thank Fork Mountain Rest Home for their loving care especially Sarah and Kenny.³ He was born on March 25, 1958 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^2,3 He died on June 6, 2020 at Virginia at age 62.³

Neil was a member of the Fork Mountain United Methodist Church and loved his family, friends, bluegrass music, hunting, racing, driving fast cars and building motors. Neil was a faithful supporter of the Franklin County Relay for Life. He brought love, job and laughter to everyone he met. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Kermit and Lucy Holcomb, Reggie and Mearl McGhee. Surviving are his daughter, the light of his life, Vandalina Manhattan Holcomb; parents, K. Wayne and Sherry Holcomb; brother, Kenneth W. Holcomb, Jr. (Barbara); sister, Sarah H. Campbell (friend, Kenny Weddle); sister, Mearl "Buggs" M. Boswell (Lee); brother, Reggie R. McGhee (Jenny); nieces and nephews, Blake Holcomb (Katie), Beth H. Adkins (Chris), Kimberly Holcomb, Daniel Buckner, Lenzie Boswell, Emily Boswell and Mahaley McGhee; special friends, Richard, Stacey, and Verity Stanfield; and his numerous friends and buddies too many to name but will never be forgotten. The family would like to say thanks for the thoughts and prayers from Neil's many friends he met along the way. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Schertz, his staff and the nurses on the 10th floor oncology at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their care and kindness.
