A funeral service will be held at Lotz Vinton Chapel, Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A special thanks to unit 5 at Catawba Hospital for their outstanding care. Burial will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. on April 15, 2018.4

Fitzwater; and numerous nieces and nephews. For many years, Mama ran a Day Care at her home in Radford and was called "Nannie" by the children and their parents. Graveside services will be held 2p.m. on Saturday March 14, 2009, in the Mausoleum at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin with the Rev. Richard Worringham officiating. Visitation will be at the mausoleum one hour prior to the service. The family wishes to express their gratitude and love to the staff and caregivers of the Gardens unit of the Summit Health & Rehab center for their love, devotion and support in caring for "Our Mother" and has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. Dorothy Monzellia Huffman Dorothy Monzellia Fitzwater, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 83 years old went to be with her Lord Jesus and her husband Chester Fitzwater November 9, 2009. She was a member of Grace Chapel on Dry Hill Road, where she served her Lord faithfully and helped coordinate church functions, and was church custodian. Dorothy was an excellent cook and worked for Woodrow Wilson High School bandwagon for many years. She served as commissioner during election times. She enjoyed RV camping with her husband, and coordinating family reunions. She was born December 30, 1925 to the parents of Joe Sam and Sally Rebecca Huffman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Chester Fitzwater; sisters Mary Sue Shrewsbury; Arettia Lusk; Thelma Gearhart; brothers Leon Huffman; Joe Huffman; Curtis Huffman; brother-in-laws Clayton Shrewsbury; Corbit Lusk; Harry Perkins; Clifton Gearhart. Those left to cherish her memory son Victor Fitzwater and wife Sue of Beckley; son Michael Fitzwater of Beckley; sister Jean Perkins of Daniels; sister-in -laws; Athaleen Huffman of Mullens; Elaine Huffman of Muncy, IN; grandchildren; Shawn Fitzwater and wife Star of Burnt Chimney, Va; Billy Scott and wife April of Denver NC; Sybil Franklin and her husband James of Beckley; Zachariah Fitzwater of Honolulu HA. Great-grand-children; Brittney Fitzwater; Michael Shawn Fitzwater II; Daniel Scott; Zeke Scott; Michael Franklin; Caleb Franklin; Olivia Franklin; special friend Tina Robinson; many nieces and nephews; loving neighbors and supportive friends and her church family.
