     Edward David McCarthy was buried at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, LaPorte Co., Indiana.^6,4 He Edward ”David” McCarthy, age 77, of Michigan City, IN passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Hospice Franciscan Communities in Michigan City, IN after a long illness. David was born July 27, 1937 in Elkhart, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph A. and Emmaline (nee Shirk) McCarthy. He was married on July 1, 1961 in Tyner, IN to Linda Stull who survives. David is also survived by daughters: Sherie (Ben) Neitzel, Christine (Eric) Pischke and Melissa (Jim) Jackson; grandchildren: Allyssa, Abby, Savannah, William, and Great-grandsons: Elijah and Jeremiah David; brother: Harry (Liz) Vredingburgh and Wally Fields who was like a brother. David is also preceded in death by sister: Sandra Vredingburgh, and special aunt and uncle: Bernice and Manuel Romo. David was employed by Als Supermarket as a meat manager for over 32 years. He belonged to the 151st Infantry National Guard. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Michigan City, IN. He was a 53 year member and a Past Master at Acme Masonic Lodge # 83 F. A.M, Michigan City, IN and worked with the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. He enjoyed instructing at the Michigan City Gun Club. David loved photography and worked with Bruce Hirsch. He enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. David was a big sports fan of Notre Dame and the Green Bay Packers. He was formerly employed by Culver Military Academy. David was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he thought life was “Great!”.⁵ He was born on July 27, 1937 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., Indiana.^3,7,5 He married Linda Lou Stull, daughter of Dean Raymond Stull and Alice Susie Thompson, on July 1, 1961 at Tyner, Marshall Co., Indiana.^1,8,5 Edward David McCarthy died on May 6, 2015 at Michigan City, LaPorte Co., Indiana, at age 77.^4,5
