     Thelma Irene Jones Thelma Irene Jones, Jan 23, 1931 - Apr 24, 2024. Thelma Irene Jones, 93, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was a longtime member of Belmont Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford F. Jones; parents, Harry and Dean Jones; three brothers and four sisters, Edward Jones, Raymond Jones, Alfred Jones, Evelyn Maxey, Nellie Johnson, Mildred Brooks, and Nora Cromer. Thelma is survived by one son, Larry Jones and wife, Connie; one daughter, Tammy Amos and husband, David; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Jones and wife, Stephanie, Shawn Lewis and wife, Lorelei, Derrick Spradlin and wife, Tamara, Deana Holdren and husband, Timmy; nine great grandchildren, Dylan, Lindsay, Logan, and Tyler Jones, Maddie, Catherine, and Thea Lewis, Samantha and Gavin Holdren; three sisters-in-law, Catherine Jones, Doris Jones, Joyce Stacy; and numerous nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank the staff at Berkshire Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care of their mother. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.2 She was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.2 She was born on January 23, 1931 at Thaxton, Bedford Co., Virginia.1,2,3 As of February 18, 1950,her married name was Jones.1 She married Wilford Fitzhugh Jones, son of Claude Fitzhugh Jones and Lala Rosabell Peters, on February 18, 1950 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2 Thelma Irene Jones died on April 24, 2024 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 93.2

     Richard Kent Lewis Richard K. Lewis, Mar 13, 1956 - Nov 3, 2014. Richard K. "Rick" Lewis, 58, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 3, 2014. He was born in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, son of the late James and Lula Bell Lewis. Rick was a commercial banker with Suntrust, serving for 34 years. He was known for his marvelous sense of humor and always having a smile on his face. He is survived by his son, Shawn Lewis and his wife, Lorelei, of Union Hall; Shawn's mother, Tammy Amos; brother, Steve Lewis of Pocahontas County, West Virginia; nieces, Amanda Lewis and Megan Lewis.3 He was born on March 13, 1956 at Renick, Greenbrier Co., West Virginia.2,4,3 He married Tammy Irene Jones, daughter of Wilford Fitzhugh Jones and Thelma Irene Jones, on July 14, 1984 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2 Richard Kent Lewis and Tammy Irene Jones were divorced on June 16, 2008 at Roanoke, Virginia.4 Richard Kent Lewis died on November 3, 2014 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 58.3

     Margaret Frances Wade was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.2,3 She Margaret Frances Wade Jones, 91, of Hickory, was called back home to God after a period of declining health, Friday, May 25, 2018, at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was a sweet, kind, loving mother and grandmother, "Memaw" who enjoyed being with family, especially during holidays, birthdays, and any milestone event in the lives of her grandchildren. She was a homemaker all her life and loved to work outside, whether it was mowing her grass until she was 82 years old, raking leaves, or planting flowers. She moved to Catawba Valley Assisted Living at Rock Barn when she was 89 and made many special friends there. Margaret was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Bedford County, Va., to the late Willie Gilbert Wade and Laura Frances Franklin Wade. She was a life-long member of Belmont Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Samuel Aubrey Jones; her little boy, Gary Wayne Jones; and her first grandson, Jeffrey Scott Jones. Also preceding her in death were 11 siblings. Her loving family left to cherish her memory include four sons and one daughter, Kenneth Aubrey Jones of Chesapeake, Va., Samuel Edward Jones and wife, Julie of Williamsburg, Va., Michael Eric Jones of Forest City, Richard Lee Jones and wife, Angela, of Denver, N.C., and Sandra Jones Floyd and husband, Chuck of Newton; nine grandsons and two granddaughters, Brian Jones and David Jones, both of Chesapeake, Andy Jones, Phillip Jones and Seth Jones, all of Richmond, Va., Christopher Jones of Asheville, Julia Jones of Denver, Justin Floyd of Lexington, Connor Floyd, Spencer Floyd, and Abbey Kate Floyd, all of Newton; sister, Maxine Peters of Roanoke, Va; and her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Wade of Bedford, Va., Doris Jones, Thelma Jones, Evelyn Jones and Joyce Stacy, all of Roanoke; as well as three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
