     Mark Edward Gray was buried at Akron I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Akron, Fulton Co., Indiana.^2,3,6 His Social Security Number was 312-52-9141.⁷ He was born on February 8, 1953 at Rochester, Fulton Co., Indiana.^3,2,7,4,6 He married Nancy Ann Groninger on April 19, 1975 at Fulton Co., Indiana.⁵ Mark Edward Gray died on July 3, 1977 at Rochester, Fulton Co., Indiana, at age 24.^2,3,6 He A rural Rochester man and a passenger in his car were killed instantly early Sunday morning when his car went off County Road 650 East, struck a tree head-on and burst into flames. Dead are Mark E. Gray, 24, R.R. 3, Rochester, and Dawn M. Roberts, 19, R.R. 5, Warsaw. They died when the car Gray was driving went off County Road 650 East, one mile south of Ind. 14, at 1:10 o’clock and struck the tree. Both were trapped in the car and suffered third degree burns and multiple internal injuries, according to Fulton County Coroner Junior D. Good. State police said the auto was southbound when it went off the west side of the road, went back across the centerline and then went off the west side of the road again and hit the tree. Police said no cause for the accident has been found.
The two deaths raised Fulton county’s 1977 traffic toll to four. Mark E. Gray was born Feb. 8, 1953 in Fulton county to Garland “Bud” and Shirley Hibschman Gray. He was employed by Sonoco Products corporation, Akron, and was a member of the Akron United Methodist church and the Akron Jaycees. Surviving with the parents are a brother, John, Akron, the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hibschamn, Akron, and several aunts and uncles. Burial was at the Akron cemetery. on July 5, 1977.²
