     Samie Ennis Mills was born on December 9, 1943 at Roanoke, Virginia.^3,4,5 He married Linda Gail David on August 21, 1965 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.⁴ Samie Ennis Mills married Betty Anne Altizer, daughter of George Edward "Ed" Altizer and Ruth Adeline Conner, in 1977 at Myrtle Beach, Horry Co., South Carolina.⁵ Samie Ennis Mills and Linda Gail David were divorced on February 16, 1977 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁵ Samie Ennis Mills and Betty Anne Altizer were divorced on March 19, 1982 at Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ Samie Ennis Mills married Katherine Ann Riffey on January 1, 1984 at Chilhowie, Smyth Co., Virginia.⁴ Samie Ennis Mills died in April, 1999 at age 55.⁶

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Eva Lakes. He is survived by his parents, Jerry E. and Delma A. Lakes, of Fincastle; daughters, "beautiful daughter," Dakota Lakes, of Roanoke, and Annalise Lakes; son, August Lakes, both of Oklahoma City, Okla; brother and sister-inlaw, Steven D. and Ashley F. Lakes, of Fincastle; special niece and nephew, Anna and Alex Lakes; maternal grandparents, Helen and Okley Alexander, of Eagle Rock; uncle, Randy Alexander; aunts, Jean (Mike) Botkins, Faye (Herman) Ballinger, and Linda Lakes; special family member, Karen Chitwood; and numerous cousins.      Katherine Ann Riffey was buried at Wassum Cemetery, Atkins, Smyth Co., Virginia.³ She Katherine Riffey Teaster, Jun 26, 1947 - Feb 14, 2022. Katherine Ann Riffey Teaster, age 74, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Smyth County Community Hospital. Katherine was born in Smyth County, VA to the late Robert and Mary Pauline Lawson Riffey and is also preceded in death by her son, Robert G. “Little Bob” Blevins, Jr; daughters, Rose Marie Bradford and Debra Ann Jackson Jones; sisters, Betsy Lou Smith and Phyllis Jean Robertson; and brother, Jessie Lewis Riffey. Katherine was a truly good person. Everyone who met her, loved her. She was an awesome Momma, Grandma, and Great-grandma. Katherine was extremely hardworking; she worked at DG Mouldings, Merillat, and Virginia House. Survivors include her daughter, Anna Lee Blevins O’Neal, Bristol, VA; sister, Rose Marie Collins, Marion; grandchildren: CJ Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Brian Russell, Bethany Carrier, Jessie O’Neal, and Laken Carrier; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family also survive. Interment will follow at Wassum Cemetery.³ She was born on June 26, 1947 at Smyth Co., Virginia.^1,3,2 As of January 1, 1984,her married name was Mills.¹ She married Samie Ennis Mills, son of Page Terry Mills Jr. and Goldie Marie Myers, on January 1, 1984 at Chilhowie, Smyth Co., Virginia.¹ Katherine Ann Riffey died on February 14, 2022 at Marion, Smyth Co., Virginia, at age 74.³

     Linda Sue Jackson Sue J. Mills, 70, of Rocky Mount passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at her residence. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward L. and Pansy Jackson; brothers, Edward L. Jackson Jr. and Frank "Shorty" Jackson; sister, Nancy Sission; mother and father-in-law Page and Marie Mills. She is survived by the love of her life, Lewis P. Mills; daughter, Tina Cadden and son-in-law Tom Cadden; beloved granddaughter, Emily Cadden; sisters, Betty Schwinn, Martha Lou West and husband, Joe; sisters-in-law, Rose Sweeney and Sue Draper; numerous wonderful nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Karen Thomas who went above and beyond for the family. Special thanks to niece, Sherry West who always has been faithful, Donna Belle, Deanie Jackson, Dr. Kim Dulaney and Good Samaritan Hospice. Special friends, Charlotte Bishop, Sandy Milne, Carol Bryant, Betty Kehoe, Cathy Bays and Debbie Simmons. Also the Stampin up Lunch Bunch group, Stampin Sisters group, CBS family and the Halesford Baptist Church family. Sue's goal in life was to make the world a little better each day and to win souls for Jesus Christ. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, Rachel Rebekah Lodge #4 and the American Legion. She was a retired Registered Nurse having served in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps during World War II. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Winfred E. and Jeanetta Mills; granddaughter, Kathy Melloh, all of Indianapolis, Ind; grandsons, Chad Eric Mills, Charles Brian Mills, Frank Joseph Mills, all of Clarksville, Tenn., Jeffrey A. Mills, Indianapolis, Ind. Burial will be in Troutville Cemetery. on December 22, 1994.⁵
