     Thelma Bess Lewis Thelma Bess Lewis Holt, age 94, of Johnson City, TN passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Carlton Lewis and Frances Mae Sparks Lewis Jarrett. She was a member of Central Community Christian Church. Thelma was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and quilting, cooking, puzzles and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Brooks Holt, a brother, William "Dusty" Lewis and a half-brother, Garnett "Bud" John Jarrett. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jim Holt and wife Barbara, Lewis Holt, Michelle Gourley, Don Holt and Mark Holt and wife Anita; grandchildren, Seth Holt and wife Sonya, Steve Gourley and wife Kimberly, Carrie Holt, Captain Alayna Holt USAF and Second Lt. Robert Holt USAF and wife Kelsey; a great-grandchild, Madison Gourley; siblings, Carl Lewis and wife Martha Lou, Edna Crumley and husband Tom and Sarah Edwards and husband Garry. Beloved step-brothers, sisters and in-laws and many nieces and nephews as well as special friends, Dr. David Franzus, Dr. Dianne Draper and Kathryn Smith also survive.
