     Robert Windsor Deyerle was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.3 He was born on January 10, 1937 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.1,2 He married Jean Runella Altice, daughter of Leonard William Altice and Claudine Evelyn Thurman, on January 21, 1956 at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co., South Carolina.1,2 Robert Windsor Deyerle and Jean Runella Altice were divorced on September 12, 1988 at Prince William Co., Virginia.1 Robert Windsor Deyerle died on August 22, 2018 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 81.2 He Robert Windsor Deyerle, Master Sergeant United Robert Windsor Marines States Marine Corps Retired, died at Roanoke Carilion Trauma Center on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Born in Princeton, W.Va. in 1937, he grew up in Roanoke and lived here until he joined the Marine Corps in 1954. He was a veteran of three tours in Vietnam before retiring in 1974 from Marine Headquarters Washington D.C. Bob immediately embarked on his second career of 25 years with the United States Postal Service in Northern Virginia, retiring in 1999, and in 2004, finally resettling for the last time in Roanoke County. Bob was predeceased by his daughter, Julie Graham Conwell. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Kathy Iverson (Marty) of Frederick, Md., Charlotte Juarez (Jay) of Manassas, Va; and son, C. Jason (Dino) Deane of Salem. He was blessed with three granddaughters, Stephanie Slaughter (Andrew), Katie Graham, and Kelly Arrington (David); as well as three grandsons, Christian and Jayson Juarez, and Nathan Lewis. Additional family includes four great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his first wife, Jean Altice Deyerle. Master Sergeant Deyerle was always a Marine, remaining true to the image and ideals of the Corps. His Marine and Navy brothers were his closest friends and his favorite part of the day was meet- Hilltop Restaurant for a few Budweisers and some great comradeship. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 1503 in Dale City, Va., and VFW Post 1264 in Roanoke, Mickey Finn Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Triangle, Va., Disabled American Veterans MacKenzie Chapter 3, and AMVETS VA 40. He was also a member of American Legion Post 3 in Roanoke. Despite his proud military background, Bob was a gentle soul who loved feeding and watching the wildlife around his home, sitting on the patio and sharing a glass of wine and beautiful scenery with Nancy, and having long weekend telephone chats with Kathy. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and the Boston Redsox for most of his life. The family's grateful appreciation is extended to all the caring and compassionate nurses, technicians, and doctors of the Roanoke Carilion Neuro Trauma Units, especially Dr. Adam Maerz, and also to the EMT responders from Fort Lewis Fire and Ems Station 9, Salem. on August 30, 2018.2

"Mickey" Hoyle, 73, of Asheville died Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Brian Center in Hendersonville after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a native and lifelong resident of Asheville. He loved this community where he helped build the family business, Hoyle Office Solutions, and raised his family. Mickey graduated from Lee Edwards High School in 1957 and was an outstanding basketball player. After attending Wake Forest University, Mickey spent time in the US Army Reserve at Ft Sill, OK Upon his return from the Army, Mickey graduated from Mars Hill College in 1964 with a business degree. During that time, he was a star basketball player who in 2010 was honored and inducted into the Mars Hill College Athletic Hall of Fame. Mickey was an avid golfer and long time member of The Country Club of Asheville. It was here that some of his most cherished friendships were formed. Those friendships carried him throughout his life and were instrumental in providing him strength through his cancer fight Along with his passion for golf, Mickey equally loved shag dancing and was a proud member of the Carolina Shag Club and the Mountain Shag dub. Mickey is survived by his parents, J.W. "Red" and Christine G. Hoyle; his son, Rick Hoyle (Paula) and their children, Evan and Emerson Hoyle; his daughter, Kelly H. Owensby (Jerry) and their son, Austin Owensby. Also surviving are Mickey's two brothers and sister, Jimmy, Tommy and Kathy Hoyle. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Kathy H. McKinney; and a special friend, Joyce Anderson. Mickey's family would like to extend a special thank you to Mickey's many friends for the outpouring of love and support during this time; the physicians and staff at The Brian Center in Hendersonville, Cancer Care of WNC and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center of Houston, TX. Interment will follow at Lewis Memorial Park. on January 13, 2013.3
