     Robert Kenneth "Bob" Kennedy was buried at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 528 Leesville Road, Lynchburg, Virginia.^4,7 His Social Security Number was 227-48-8640.⁸ He was born on May 24, 1938 at Slate Mills, Rappahanock Co., Virginia.^4,8,6,7 He married Harriet Edythe Watson, daughter of Robert Lewis Watson Jr. and Ethel Mae Stump, on December 29, 1962 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2,3,4 Robert Kenneth "Bob" Kennedy died on August 18, 2010 at Bedford Co., Virginia, at age 72.^4,8,5,7 He Robert "Bob" Kenneth Kennedy of Lynchburg, VA, went to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Bob was born in Slate Mills in Rappahannock County, VA. He was a proud graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served as a 1st Lt. in the Hawk Missile Unit of the Air Defense Artillery Division in El Paso, TX. After his military service Bob held several jobs including 20 years at B&W Nuclear Power Generation Division in Lynchburg, VA, spending his final years as Manager of the Systems Design & Instrumentation and Engineering Unit. Bob had an infectious smile, wonderful since of humor, and was loved by all who knew him. He was a positive and happy person who enjoyed being with people, helping others, and giving back to the community. Bob worked with Habitat for Humanity for over a decade, was a member of the Lynchburg Toastmasters, and was also a long time member of the Lynchburg Exchange Club, serving a term as Exchange Club President. He enjoyed golf, traveling, and spending time with his family. Bob loved and faithfully served Beulah Baptist Church for many years including two mission trips to Thailand. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Harriet, of 47 years, daughter Vicki Whitley and husband Jeff of New Freedom, Pennsylvania, son Doug Kennedy and wife Kristy of Lynchburg, Virginia, granddaughters Taylor and Emily Kennedy, sister Betty Coates and husband John, as well as many other relatives. His sister Jean Minnis, brothers Charles and Douglas Kennedy, mother Goldie Jenkins Kennedy and father Waver Kennedy preceded Bob in death. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Beulah Baptist Church with graveside service to follow at the church cemetery. on August 19, 2010.⁷

     Tina Louise Bell On Friday, June 17, 2016, Tina Phillips of Salem, Va., was taken into Glory by her Sweet Jesus. Tina was a loving wife, a caring mother, a spoiling grandma and mawmaw, and a compassionate friend. She loved Jesus more than life and made sure all those she came in contact with knew she loved them and that"Jesus loves you more". She was a loving member of Roanoke First Church of the Nazarene and a faithful friend of Catawba Valley Baptist Church. Her favorite phrase and song were "Praise Jesus!" and "Jesus Loves Me". She found great comfort and joy in their truth! Words don't adequately describe the uniqueness and the love, the servant's heart, or the grace that would characterize this precious woman. She showed her family and so many others the love of Jesus. She was preceded in death by her father, William Nelson Bell; mother, Elizabeth Ann Parcel; brother, Everett Vance Parcel; and sister, Karen Sue Bell. Tina is survived by her husband of 35 years, David Phillips; her seven kids and their spouses, Kristy Bell, Jennifer and Steven Crowder, Reggie and Ashley Phillips, Dusty and Shiloh Phillips, Stevie and Nick Washok, Logan Phillips, and Legacie Phillips; eight grandbabies, Jacob, Caleb, and Corban Crowder, Faith Dolin, Hudson and Sawyer Phillips, and Levi and Luci Phillips; three sisters, Sharon Bowman, Debbie and Miguel Hernandez, and Susie Parcell; three brothers, Alan and Betty Musser, Gary Musser, and Kenneth Stanley; her sister-in-law, best friend, and caregiver, Jean Harlow and husband, Eddie; brother-in-law, Charles and Peggy Phillips; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. The family would like to thank the great hospital staffs of RMH, UVAMedical Center, Sheltering Arms, Good Samaritan Hospice, and VCU Medical Center.
