Interment in Evergreen. on May 10, 1974.2

She was a graduate of Staunton River High School, Class of 1993, attended Virginia Western Community College and had chosen to pursue a career in child care. She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmothers, Iva Wertz and Otis Wilson, and a very special friend, Rhonda Shelor. Surviving are her parents, Bobby and Genie Schaaff; her boyfriend, Mike Cook, all of Roanoke; grandparents, Virgil and Ruby Wilson of Boones Mill, Jimmy and Lola Schaaff of Roanoke; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Shannon was a very special person, always putting others first and will be sadly missed and forever loved. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. on February 24, 2001.1
