     Ernest Fernandez Jr. was buried at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Hillsborough Co., Florida.2 He was born on December 2, 1938 at Ybor City, Hillsborough Co., Florida.2 He married Joyce Edna Conner, daughter of Woodrow Wilson Conner and Dolcie Fay Price, on March 26, 1988 at Hillsborough Co., Florida.1 Ernest Fernandez Jr. died on December 20, 2021 at Tampa, Hillsborough Co., Florida, at age 83.2 He FERNANDEZ, Ernest Jr. 83, of Tampa, FL, passed peacefully on December 20, 2021, following a short illness. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Dora and Ernesto Fernandez. He is survived by his sons, Ernest, Rick (Pam), and Dennis Fernandez; his sister, Norma Farfante (Angel); his grandchildren, Ernest Jr., Melissa, Katherine, Emma, Domenic, and Ricky Fernandez, in addition to a wonderful and loving circle of extended family and friends. Born in Ybor City on December 2, 1938, and a lifelong Tampa resident, Ernie attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Academy, University of Tampa (Tampa U), and University of South Florida. His professional career as an educator spanned over 42 years with Hillsborough County Public Schools, exceling as a teacher, principal, and administrator, eventually centering on Adult and Community Education. He served as administrator of Brandon Academy from 1973-1986 and was very active in the Brandon community. He donated his time and expertise to many boards, advocating for educational excellence and improved teacher benefits. Ernie had a passion for cars, especially for Corvettes, which he enjoyed throughout his life. Interment immediately following at Garden of Memories Cemetery. on December 26, 2021.2
