     Kenneth Nelson Johnson was buried at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milner Road, Suffolk, Virginia.² He Kenneth Nelson "Ken" Johnson, 80, went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2022. He was born December 3, 1941 in Gretna, Virginia, and was the son of the late Nelson Silas Johnson and Ruth Farmer Johnson. Ken was a graduate of Gretna High School Class of 1960 and was a United States Army veteran having served during the Vietnam era. He also attended Virginia Tech and enjoyed a long career in the construction industry, and was president/owner of Chesapeake Steel, Inc. and president/co-owner of Chesapeake Bay Steel, Inc. in Norfolk until his retirement in 2000. He was also a past president of the Virginia chapter of the American Subcontractors Association. In 1996, Ken and his wife moved from Norfolk to Windsor where they happily lived for 25 years. He served on Windsor's Town Council and Planning Commission from 2002 to 2008. Ken will be remembered for many wonderful things, but especially his quick wit, his generosity, and his deep love for the Lord and his family. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, M. Dawn Rodgerson Johnson; sons, Timothy W. Johnson (Jennifer), Randy Johnson; grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler, Meagan, and Conner; brothers, Aaron Johnson, Tommy Johnson (JoAnn), and Dennis Johnson (Sallie); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Commonwealth Memory Care of Chesapeake, and Trinity Hospice of Chesapeake for their compassionate caregiving. Burial will be held at a later date at Albert G. She was predeceased by her husband, Oliver Thomas Farmer; two brothers, Nelson Johnson and Richard Johnson; and two sisters, Thelma J. Edwards, and Helen J. Murphy. Mrs. Farmer was a member of Gretna Christian Church where she was a member of the Christian Womens Fellowship and Choir, and she was a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, David Lee Farmer of Alabama, and Lowell Thomas Farmer of Richmond; one daughter, Betty Jane Gunnell of New York; three sisters, Mary J. Shelhorse, and Susie J. Talbott, both of Gretna and Flossie J. Meadows of Danville; one brother, Raymond Johnson of Gretna; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. Interment followed in Gretna Burial Park. on November 7, 2006.⁴
