     Merry E. Taffs Merry E. (Taffs) Mervin, July 11, 1942 - April 28, 2018. Merry E. Mervin age 75, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama passed away Saturday April 28, 2018. An active parishioner Merry was very involved in the church with RCIA, various prayer ministries, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul through her work with the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store in Florence. Merry was preceded in death by her parents: Olav Frithjoff and Helen Marie (Ratagick) Taffs. Her husband James Mervin and two brothers Eric and Rolf Taffs. Merry is survived by her two daughters: Marka Gannis (J.T. Von Holtz-Ater) Lewisburg, TN. Phillipia Pundor (Stephen) of Nashville TN. Brothers; Hans Taffs of Elcho, WI. And Sven Taffs (Laura) of Helena, MT. Sisters; Annie Ogden of Cincinnati, OH. Margaret Taffs of Zephyrhill, FL. and Karen Tolle (John) of Madison, WI.¹ Her married name was Mervin.¹ She married James Michael Mervin, son of Charles Edward Powell and Ruby Virginia Mervin.¹ Merry E.      Susan Marie Perkins Susan M. McManus, 79, passed away March 22, 2019 at Golden Living Center-Fountainview in Mishawaka. She was born September 30, 1939 in Eastbank, West Virginia. She married Jerry McManus, Sr; he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 children, Larry, Shirley “Ray”, Barry Pettry, and 2 siblings, James Perkins and Carrie Parsons. Surviving are 3 children, Kathy White, Jerry (Tanya) McManus, Jr., Gay Wright, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 siblings, Alice Hodge and Charles Perkins. Susan was a server for 25 years in her spare time she enjoyed collecting knick knacks, playing bingo and going to the casino.      James L. "Sandy" Williams on November 4, 1969.³ James L. Perkins died on October 16, 2013 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 69.^4,3 He James "J.L." Perkins Sr., 69, of Glasgow, went home to heaven on October 16, 2013, at CAMC General Hospital. J.L. was born May 13, 1944, in Coalburg, and was a 1964 graduate of East Bank High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. Upon returning from the war, J.L. married the love of his life, Sandra L. Williams Perkins of Notamine, on January 4, 1969. J.L. was an avid aviation enthusiast, which inspired his son, James Jr., to his current job as a commercial helicopter pilot for the State of West Virginia Aviation Division. J.L. was a retired coal miner with Bethlehem Steel and was a member of the UMWA. J.L. was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 158 and the Order of the Eastern Star No. 101 in Chelyan and attended the Church of Jesus Christ in Coalburg. J.L. was the son of the late J.C. and Camillia Perkins. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Parsons, and father-in-law, Roy Williams. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra L. Perkins at home; son, James L. Perkins Jr. and his wife, Christie, of South Charleston; grandchildren, Colin, Brendan Quinn, Abbie and James L. Perkins III "Tre," all at home; sisters, Susie McManus of Elkhart, Ind., and Alice Hodge of Shrewsbury; brother, Chuck Perkins of Coalburg; mother-in-law, Magdalene Williams; niece, Katlyn Perdue, who was very dear to his heart; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London, with military honors provided by Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Detachment No. 947, Marine Corps League. The family would like to thank J.L.'s doctors for their excellent care during his illness: Dr. Sarah Nease, Dr. Harry Duncan, Dr. Ghali Bacha, Dr. Fatima Aziz and Dr. Dave. on October 19, 2013.³

She was born July 27, 1947, in Coalburg. She was a homemaker, loved her family, and adored her grandchildren. Her husband, James Parsons Sr; and daughter, Candace Parsons, preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Camellia Frances Hensley Perkins of Coalburg; children, Tina Parsons Reveal of Charleston, Tammy Parsons of Charleston, James Parsons Jr. of South Charleston, Teresa Workman of Charleston, Kim and Lori Atkinson, both of Marmet; sisters, Alice Hodge of Coalburg, Suzie McMantis of Elkhart, Ind; brothers, James Corbett Perkins of Glasgow, Charles Perkins of Shrewsbury; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Teays Valley Memorial Gardens, Winfield. on June 3, 2007.⁶

     Jerry Kent McMannis Sr. was buried at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^3,6 He Jerry Kent McManus Sr., 75, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, in his home. He was born May 24, 1939, in Elkhart to Eugene and Ruth (Gravender) McManus. On Aug. 1, 1964, in Kenton County, Ky., he married Susan M. (Perkins) Pettry. She survives along with two daughters; one son; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother. He was preceded in death by three sons. Jerry retired from NIBCO where he worked as a machinist for 24 years. Entombment with be at a later date in Rice Cemetery.³ He was born on May 24, 1939 at Elkhart, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.^3,4,5 He married Susan Marie Perkins, daughter of James Corbett Perkins and Camillia F.      Lawrence Edward Pettery Sr. Lawrence E. Pettery Sr., 80, of Cabin Creek passed away January 5, 2016 in CAMC Memorial Division after a long illness. Lawrence was retired from the Marion Compton Saw Mill. Preceded in death by lifelong companion, Mary Betzing; parents, William and Maggie Pettery; numerous siblings; sons, Larry Pettery, Shirley Ray Pettery and Barry Pettery. Left to cherish his memory are children, Lawrence Pettery Jr. of Cabin Creek, and Aaron and Sharon Clendenin both of South Carolina, and Kathy White Pettery of Goshen, Indiana; grandchildren, Ethan and Mason Pettery at home; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Pettry was preceded in death by one daughter, Francis Pettry; and by his grandfather, James Perkins. Survivors include his wife, Clara Pettry; children, Charles Pettry and his wife, Heather, of Big Ugly and Felicia Lupson and her husband, Steve Lupson, of Clothier; three beautiful grandchildren, William Pettry, Carllie Pettry, and Brianna Lupson; a godchild, Katie Berry; parents, Susan and Jerry McManus of Elkhart, Ind; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and grandmother, Camillia Perkins of Cabin Creek. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
