Born in Mercer County January 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Arnold and Frances Blanche Williby. He was a retired construction worker and was a member of the General Laborers Local Union #453, Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was their biggest fan. He could be heard above all others cheering them on at every game. Jerry's love of children and his kind heart touched everyone he knew, He was “Papaw” to all the children who knew him and always had a smile to share. Jerry served in the West Virginia Army National Guard for six years and faithfully served at the Buffalo Creek Flood in 1972. He was a lifelong resident of this area. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold “Bo” Williby and Donald Williby. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Nancy Neely Williby of the home; one son, David Williby and his wife Debbie; one daughter, Jerri “Jake” Moses and her husband Dean; one granddaughter, Jessie Moses and three grandsons, Hunter Moses, Bo Williby and Ty Williby all of Adairs Run; three brothers, Larry Williby and wife Ginger of Oakvale, Bobby Williby and wife Sharon of Peterstown and Dennis Williby and his wife Beckey of Oakvale; mother-in-law, Lourine Neely of Adairs Run; sisters-in-law, Janice Steele and husband Lendell of Lynco, W.Va., Dreama Cottle and husband Kevin of Willowton and Diann Neely of Adairs Run; brother-in-law, Harold Neely and wife Paulette of Adairs Run; and several nieces and nephews. Interment in the Neely Family Cemetery on December 26, 2012.3
