He was a talented musician, restorer of vintage cars and gun collector. He was voted the most popular singer in 1974 in Baltimore and was the state champion in Virginia, Maryland and NC in Muzzle Loading Shooting. He was a loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna Price of Monroe; children Angie Efird and husband Dexter of Endy, T.J. Elks and wife Krystal of Marshville, Mandy Price of Shelby, Robert Elks and wife Kayley of Monroe and Andrew Clayton Price, III of Monroe; grandchildren Jesse and Cole Sutphin, Kiya, Destinie, T.J., II and Ayden Elks, Lauren Bowers and Leann Hill; great-grandchild Bennett Bowers; and by his brother Victor Price and wife Sandra.3 He was born on March 25, 1938 at Monroe, Union Co., North Carolina.1,2,3 He married Jackie Darlene Cole, daughter of Alfred Richard Cole and Betty Lou Ball, on November 30, 1974 at Woodbridge, Prince William Co., Virginia.1 Andrew Clayton Price Jr. and Jackie Darlene Cole were divorced on August 8, 1988 at Prince William Co., Virginia.2 Andrew Clayton Price Jr. died on April 28, 2015 at Monroe, Union Co., North Carolina, at age 77.3

They successfully drove the crippled destroyer to a safe position in the rear. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Melissa Jarvis; sister, Ruth Carte; and brothers, Ivan and Elvin Jarvis Sr. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Nina Williams Jarvis; nephew and his wife, Jim and Carol Jarvis of Florida; nieces and their husbands, Jan and Donald Holcomb, Tammy and Buddy Hicks, and Carolyn and Larry McKinney, all of Charleston; and many other relatives and friends. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin. on May 25, 2007.5

James Edward "Jim" Jarvis It is with great sadness that the family of James Jarvis, known to friends as "Jim," announces his passing on August 19, 2018, at the age of 80. Jim follows his parents, Elvin V. Jarvis, Sr. and Cynthia "Mildred" Jarvis, and his brother, Carl "Joe" Jarvis, to the glory of heaven. A native of Charleston, WV, Jim served in the US Air Force from 1954-1958. Jim settled down in the Daytona Beach area where he worked for Florida Power & Light, retiring after 28 years. He is survived by the love of his life, Carol Jarvis, his brothers, Elvin Jarvis, Jr. (Florida), Jack Jarvis (Florida) and John Jarvis (West Virginia), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
