Mrs. Rives was cherished by her family including her husband of 53 years, the late Dr. Aubrey Tucker Rives and their three children, daughter Sarah Rives Kehayas and her husband Anthony W. Kehayas, son William Francis Rives and his partner Gail Kelly and son John Mattox Rives; grandchildren, Kristen Sullivan, Lori Goeglein and Heather Kehayas; and great-grandchildren, Megan Sullivan and namesake Kathryne Sullivan and extended family. She is also survived by two sisters, Gladys Haynes and Louise McNulty. She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Mattox and Daniel Mattox; and sister, Hazel Owens. Mrs. Rives was a member of Larchmont United Methodist Church. Her life was centered on her faith, family and friends. She loved all of God’s creatures large and small but always had a special fondness for cats. She leaves a legacy of love and inspiration to all who knew her. The family also wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to her wonderful caregivers, who are a blessing to us all. A graveside service will follow at the Historic St. Luke’s Church, 14477 Benn’s Church Blvd., Smithfield, Va. on August 5, 2005.2
