Jan’s working career spanned 34 years with the General Motors Acceptance and Motors Insurance Corporations in Amarillo and Forth Worth, TX and Greensboro and Charlotte, NC. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Benny L. Eanes of Charlotte; two sisters, Judy S. Blessing and her husband, Jim, of Hanover, MD, and Kathy S. Wong and her husband, Henry, of Sylva, NC; and a brother, Tommy W. Smith and wife, Janis, of Harrells, NC. Survivors also include nieces Lou Blessing-Huesken and husband, Paul, of Atlanta, GA, Erin Smith of Harrells, NC and Sarah Wong of Sylva, NC; and nephew, Steven Blessing and wife, Rikke, of San Ramon, CA; and beloved great niece Katherine Elizabeth Huesken. Other survivors include several aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends throughout the United States. The family thanks the staff of Presbyterian Hospital Outpatient Chemo-Therapy Department, CMC’s Blumenthal Cancer Center and Hospice at Charlotte, all of whom provided medical expertise, support and caring during Jan’s illness. They also thank Jan’s former co-workers, the staff and congregation of Providence Baptist Church, friends from the PBC activities center, neighbors and relatives. on January 22, 2004.⁶
