Dovie is survived by two daughters, Joan (Dan) Knight and Carol (Ron) Galey; three sons, Kenneth (Judy) Ervin, Larry Ervin and William (Jannette) Ervin; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dovie was a resident of Lafayette, Indiana and had recently moved back to the Danville area. She was a 1935 graduate of Georgetown High School. Dovie graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Danville and was a licensed practical nurse. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dovie enjoyed listening to music, gardening and playing cards. She had many interests and lived life to its fullest. Dovie was a loving, caring and devoted mother and grandparent. She will be greatly missed. on June 9, 2007.1

"Judy" Davis on July 17, 1959 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.2 Kenneth R. Ervin died on May 12, 2017 at Sterling, Whiteside Co., Illinois, at age 76.2 He ROCK FALLS - Kenneth R. Ervin, 76, of Rock Falls, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Ken was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Danville, the son of Howard and Dovie (Clifton) Ervin. He married Judith E. Davis on July 17, 1959, in Danville. Ken was a United States Veteran and served in the Navy from 1959-1961. He worked as a manager for around 25 years for Western and Southern Life Insurance Company. Ken was an active member of the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Morrison Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed photography, fishing and hunting and loved to build and fly model airplanes. He is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Christine (Bill) Wright of Burlington, Iowa; his two sons, Jeffrey (Barbara) Ervin of Mundelein, and Timothy (Mishez) Ervin of Rolling Meadows; six grandchildren, Jon Ervin, Bill Wright III, David Ervin, Zoish Avari, Cody Wright and Cossette Ervin; two sisters, Joan Knight of Westville, and Carol Galey of Layfette, Ind; two brothers, Larry Ervin of Downers Grove, and William "Billy" Ervin of Chapel Hill, Tenn., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Burial with full Military Honors will conclude at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls. on May 13, 2017.2
