Shelton was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.2,4 He was born on July 31, 1950 at West Virginia.3,4 He died on February 26, 1985 at Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 34.3,4 He Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home for Dr. William L. Shelton, 34, who was stabbed to death in Virginia Beach last week. Police in Virginia Beach discovered the body of the Charleston native Tuesday near the golf course of an exclusive country club. He had been stabbed several times and an autopsy report stated he died from two puncture wounds to the heart. Police say they have no leads or suspects in the case. He was a dentist with the Omnidentix Dental Center in Virginia Beach. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Charleston and the American Dental Association. Surviving: parents, LeGrand A. and Mary Lou Shelton of Charleston; sister, Mrs. Connie L. Clonch of Concord, Calif; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Louise M.. Williams of Charleston. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. on March 7, 1985.2

Robert Bain Jr. Robert Bain Jr., 93, of Reelsville, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Putnam County Hospital. Bob was born Feb. 4, 1923, in Brazil, Ind., the son of Robert Sr. and Etta (Hale) Bain. He attended Brazil High School before serving his country in the United States Army. Bob married Betty Mercer on April 5, 1947. He worked as a farmer throughout his life. Bob also worked for the American Bearing Co., Indianapolis; as a supervisor for the Putnam County Highway Department; and for Walmart Distribution in Greencastle. Bob was a faithful member of Putnamville Baptist Church. He was a founding member of the Reelsville Fire Department and had been a member of the Carbon Masonic Lodge. Bob was very active in Putnam County politics. He has served as a precinct committeeman and ran for Putnam County Council. Bob was a dedicated employee wherever he worked. He retired from Walmart Distribution at age 87. Because of his devotion, he was awarded Indiana's "Outstanding Older Worker" award in 2003. This afforded him the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., with his family and be acknowledged on a national level. Bob was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Haley Anna Bain, five half-brothers and three half-sisters. Bob is survived by his wife Betty Bain of Reelsville; four children, Sandy Hutcheson and husband Kenny of Reelsville, Sharon Blaydes and husband Stephen of Reelsville, Don Bain and wife Rita of Reelsville, and Dan Bain and wife Dianna of Reelsville; grandchildren Julie Peters and husband Mark, Ann Taylor, Jennifer Smith and husband Bryan, Pastor Stephen Paul Blaydes Jr. and wife Rachelle, Gretchen Wallace and husband Ian, Lindsay Teipen and husband Aaron, Hilarie Pistelli and husband Pat, Valarie Bartrom and husband Phil, Daniel Robert Bain and fiancé Shawna Campbell; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Fern Floyd, of Indianapolis ,as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Burial with military rites, will follow at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery.4 He was buried at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery, Reelsville, Putnam Co., Indiana.3,4 He was born on February 4, 1923 at Brazil Township, Clay Co., Indiana.3,4,5 He married Betty Joan Mercer, daughter of Willis Levi Mercer and Elizabeth Jane Walden, on April 5, 1947.1,2,4 Robert Bain Jr. died on May 15, 2016 at Greencastle, Putnam Co., Indiana, at age 93.2,3,4
