A native of Franklin County, Va., he was a local resident for the past 60 years. He was retired from the City of Roanoke as a heavy equipment operator after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and he was the first one called from Franklin County for the draft in World War II where he served in the U.S. Army until the end of World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Jones Underwood and daughter, Sharon Underwood Craft. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Lyle Underwood, Sr. and wife Donna, Philip Brian Underwood, Sr. and wife Christine, Bradley Jones Underwood and wife Sharon. He is also survived by his brother, James Frank Underwood; grandchildren, Jessica R. Underwood, Stephen L. Underwood, Jr., Sarah U. Martin, Philip B. Underwood, Jr., Victor B. Underwood, Alexandra A. Underwood, Darrell W. Craft, Richard S. Toney, and Kenneth C. Toney. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. on October 25, 2004.¹

     Donald Ray Craft was born on October 16, 1943 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2 He married Sharon Victoria Underwood, daughter of Jesse Willard Underwood and Evelyn Marie Jones, on June 11, 1966 at Roanoke, Virginia.¹ Donald Ray Craft and Sharon Victoria Underwood were divorced on May 9, 1990 at Roanoke, Virginia.² Donald Ray Craft died on August 13, 2018 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 74.³ He Donald Ray “Donnie” Craft, 74 of Roanoke, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. Donnie was retired from the City of Roanoke and was an avid golfer and bowler. He is survived by his wife, Barbara D. Craft, 2 sons, Darrell Craft and Corey Craft, 2 sisters, 3 brothers and numerous other relatives. on August 14, 2018.³
