     Irvin Daniel Hines Irvin Daniel Hines, (Mr Dan, PaPa Dan, The Bus Man Dan) 66, of Westview Street in Narrows, departed this life Thursday evening, December 29, 2016 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg, VA after a short illness. Born in Lindside, WV on February 27, 1950 he was a son of Irvin Ruble and Ethadean Thompson Hines of Lindside, WV. He was baptized and attended Bethel Chapel at Clendennin. Dan was known far and wide for his voice as an auctioneer when he ,with his wife, operated Colonial Auction Co. and Nationwide Moving Co. for over 40 years. He also was a hit with the children on his bus; for 14 years he drove a Giles County School Bus in Narrows. Dan’s greatest joy was gathering up his family and taking a camping trip up to Lake Sherwood in WV and romping with the children and his special dog Baby Girl. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, his devoted wife and business partner Brenda I. Hines; his son Jarod Hines of Christiansburg; his daughters and sons-in-law Donna McKinney Ralph and Bill of Narrows, Jennifer Patteson and Robby of Narrows (Wolf Creek); his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Ruth Ann Hines of Lindside, his sister and brother-in-law Robin and David Thomas of Memphis, TN; his grandchildren Zachary Patteson (Rachael), Tyler Evans (Hannah), Landon Patteson, Brady Patteson, Morgan Ralph, Liam Ralph; his great-grandchildren Colten Wade Patteson and Emalyn Evans, his brother-in-law and his son Gary and Austin Byrd; and his many special nieces and nephews.² He was born on February 27, 1950 at Lindside, Monroe Co., West Virginia.^1,2 He married Sarena Gaye Poole, daughter of Willard Daniel Poole and Phyllis Marie Skeens, on March 5, 1985 at Bluefield, Tazewell Co., Virginia.¹ Irvin Daniel Hines died on December 29, 2016 at Blacksburg, Virginia, at age 66.²

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Sue Johnson; a sister, Christine Faultner; and a brother, Leonard Thomas. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Barbara Acord and her husband, Kevin, of Fishersville, Va; a son, Howard Johnson and his wife, Eun, stationed with the U.S. Army in Texas; three grandchildren, Tiana Acord, Kindra Acord and Lucas Clark; four sisters, Genieve Tolliver of Bud Mountain, Rella Tingler of Coal City, Edna Mae Thomas of South Carolina, and Marie Thomas of King, N.C; two brothers, Oliver Roscoe Thomas of King, N.C., and Bernard Thomas of Bud Mountain. on May 18, 2008.⁵

Mrs. Faulkner was a coal miner, having been employed by the U.S. Steel No. 50. She was preceded in death by her first husband, MacAuthor Bishop. Other survivors include her husband, Donald Ray Faulkner; a daughter, Jeannettia Torres of Virginia Beach, Va; two sons, Carlos and James Bishop, both at home; a stepdaughter, Amy Nichole Faulkner at home; six sisters, Kathy Meadows of Stephenson, Marie Stanley and Edna Mae Thomas, both of San Antonio, Texas, Geneva Sizemore of High Point, N.C., Rella Tiller of Sophia and Debbie Thomas of Richlands, N.C; three brothers, Leonard Thomas of Cabin Creek, Rosco Thomas of High Point and Bernard Thomas of Bud Mountain, maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pall Lusk of Cabin Creek, and two grandchildren.
