     William Dennis Blankenship and Sandra Jean "Sandy" Richards were divorced.¹ William Dennis Blankenship William Dennis Blankenship age 79 of Boones Mill, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was born on November 29, 1943 a son of the late William M. and Frances Cooper Blankenship. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Scarlett and brother, J. P. Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship worked at Cooper Wood for many years, where he operated a forklift. He enjoyed working outdoors where he farmed and raised a garden. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanie Arrington Blankenship; children, Philip Blankenship (Terry), Ricky Dillon (Katie), Tammy Chitwood (Carter), Denise Lazenby (Josh), Andy Blankenship (Jenniffer); grandchildren, Autumn (Sal), Alex (Heather), Jared, Candace, Peyton, Aaron, Adam, Nathan, Kaylee, J.J., Anna, Annalynn, and Rylei Jo; great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Luca; sister, Betty Guilliams; brothers, Wayne Blankenship (Betty), and Bobby Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, Charlie Robinette; a brother, Charles Robinette in December 1999; a brother-in-law, Donald Flay Johnston; and two infant children.
