     Lois Olene Richardson was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2880 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁴ She Lois Olene Richardson Stanger of Christiansburg passed away November 2, 2022, at the age of 97. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Billy N. Stanger, parents Rev. P.A. and Maggie Smith Richardson, sister Arlene Harbert, brother Percy Richardson, and son-in-law Donald Osborne, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lois is survived by her children Cynthia Slaughter and husband Lewis, Leisa Osborne, and Bruce Stanger; grandchildren Brent Slaughter and wife Laura, and Andrew Slaughter. She is also survived by sisters Frances Bower, Hazel Talley, Mary Essmann, Martha Laper, Sue Rackley and husband Ron, and Linda Koalkin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lois was born and raised in Shawsville, Va. She received her RN degree from Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and began her nursing career at New Altamont Hospital in Christiansburg. Later she went to Radford Community Hospital from where she retired as head nurse of the newborn nursery. The hundreds of newborns she cared for over the years was a source of pride for her. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Commonwealth Senior Living (Christiansburg), Kindred Hospice, Carilion Hospice, and the Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery Palliative Care Unit. A special thanks to Patricia Gordon, Hannah Abate, and Jessica Chestnut. There will be an interment service on Monday Nov. 7th at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 2880 N. Franklin St., Christiansburg.⁴ She was born on February 21, 1925 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,3 As of December 3, 1946,her married name was Shelton.² She married Frank Edward Shelton on December 3, 1946 at Roanoke, Virginia.² Lois Olene Richardson and Frank Edward Shelton were divorced on February 1, 1951 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁷ As of June 5, 1954,her married name was Stanger.² Lois Olene Richardson married Billy Nelson Stanger on June 5, 1954 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,4 Lois Olene Richardson died on November 2, 2022 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia, at age 97.⁴

     Her married name was Harbert.⁵ Ellen Arlene Richardson married William Eugene "Bill" Harbert.⁵ Ellen Arlene Richardson was born on March 24, 1927 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² As of 1953,her married name was Beaudet.³ She married Stephen Charles Beaudet in 1953 at New York, New York.³ Ellen Arlene Richardson died on January 25, 2015 at Ocala, Marion Co., Florida, at age 87.⁵ She Ocala - Arlene R. Harbert, 87, of Ocala passed away January 25, 2015. She was born in Shawsville, VA to Rev. P.A. and Maggie Richardson. Arlene came to Ocala in 1973. She was a homemaker, a member of College Park Church of God and at one time was a volunteer at Munroe Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her daughter, Karen B. Burford of Ocala; siblings, Lois Stanger, Frances Bower and Sue Rackley of Virginia and Martha Laper, Hazel Talley, Mary Essmann and Linda Koalkin of Florida, grandchildren; James and Matthew Burford, Stephen P., Sean, Sterling, Savant and Soulange Beaudet; four step- grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and her special friend, Richard E. Balzer, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, William 'Bill' Harbert, children; Margaret E. Beaudet and Mark Stephen Beaudet, brother, Percy H. Richardson and her parents. on February 1, 2015.⁵

     Thelma Frances Richardson was born on June 30, 1929 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.^7,2 As of April 19, 1948,her married name was Bower.³ She married Leroy Nelson Bower on April 19, 1948 at Stokes Co., North Carolina.³

     Percy Hampton Richardson was buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2880 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,5,6 His Social Security Number was 226-40-4223.³ He was born on April 28, 1936 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^2,3,4 He married Virginia Louise Hall on September 15, 1962 at York, York Co., South Carolina.⁸ Percy Hampton Richardson and Virginia Louise Hall were divorced on October 20, 1987 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.⁸ Percy Hampton Richardson died on May 28, 1992 at Radford, Virginia, at age 56.^2,3,5,6 He Percy Hampton Richardson, age 57, passed away Thursday, May 28, 1992, in Radford Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Percy A. Richardson. He is survived by a son, Michael S. Richardson, Radford; a daughter, Donna O. Richardson, Christiansburg; eight sisters, Lois Stanger, Frances Bower and Mary Matusevick, all of Christiansburg; Arlene Harbert, Ocala, Fla; Hazel Talley, Roanoke; Martha Thurmond, Goose Creek, S.C; Sue Rackley, Yorktown, Va; Linda Koalkin, Great Neck, N.Y; and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends, including Don Canaday. He served in the U.S. Army as a Technical Sergeant during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Paris Mountain Hunt Club and New River Bass Club. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 1992, at the First Church of God on Canaan Road in Christiansburg, conducted by the Rev. Ron Mitchell with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. on May 29, 1992.⁶

Percy Alfonso Richardson and Maggie Nicholas Smith, on April 19, 1948 at Stokes Co., North Carolina.³ Leroy Nelson Bower died on November 3, 1987 at Radford, Virginia, at age 58.^1,4

     Tony Matusevich Jr. was buried at Matusevich Cemetery, Blacksburg, Virginia.⁴ He was born on March 8, 1929 at McComas, Mercer Co., West Virginia.^1,2,4 He married Mary Jane Richardson, daughter of Rev. Percy Alfonso Richardson and Maggie Nicholas Smith, on June 23, 1951 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ Tony Matusevich Jr. and Mary Jane Richardson were divorced on January 2, 1979 at Montgomery Co., Virginia.² Tony Matusevich Jr. died on July 17, 1998 at Blacksburg, Virginia, at age 69.^3,4,5 He MATUSEVICH, Tony Jr., 69, of Blacksburg, died Friday, July 17, 1998 at his home. on July 20, 1998.⁵

     Linda Ann Richardson Linda R. Koalkin, 82, from Roanoke/Ocala Florida went to be with the lord on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. Born on November 1, 1941, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy and Maggie Richardson. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Koalkin; sisters, Lois Stanger, Frances Bower, and Arlene Harbert; brother, Percy Richardson; and daughter, Penney McDonald Bales. Linda had a sweet tooth and enjoyed a good piece of candy from time-to-time. Her enjoyment of sweets helped her to be a great baker. Not only did she bake, but she also enjoyed cooking and hosting dinner parties for her family and friends. Linda was a very well-to-do lady who enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family and friends, and enjoyed singing along to a beautiful hymn. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her son, James Lloyd Crosier Jr; sisters, Hazel Talley, Mary Essmann, Martha Laper, and Sue Rackley; grandchildren Brandon James Crosier, Yardley Paige Bales, Randy Bales Jr. and Sonya Schnicke (Bales); stepdaughters, Barbra, and Sheila; and many cousins, and extended family members. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Lewis Gale Montgomery, Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Friendship Rehab, and Heritage Hall Rehab for their kind and compassionate care, special cousins, Debra Matusevich Messina, and Rita Young, and special friend, Mary Evans. Percy Alfonso Richardson and Maggie Nicholas Smith, on May 3, 1958 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ Robert Edward McDonald and Linda Ann Richardson were divorced on August 17, 1962 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁵ Robert Edward McDonald died on August 22, 1973 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 39.^3,4
