He married Anna Vice on February 25, 1978, in Paris, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Katrina (Scott) Shaffer of Paris; a brother, Larry Washburn of Albion, Illinois; five sisters, Cheryl Stolz of Effingham, Illinois, Shirley Webb and Charlotte Brown both of Decatur, and Trudy Timmerman and Sharon Martin both of Paris; six grandchildren, Connor Washburn, and Rayven, Dakota, Autumn, Savannah, and Keara Shaffer; his mother-in-law, Joan Vice of Paris; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Armentrout. Mr. Washburn was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
