     Elizabeth Jeanette Richards Elizabeth Jeanette Pigg, age 80 of Ferrum passed away Friday, October 25, 2024. She was born October 21, 1944, a daughter of the late Bernice “Bun” and Dorothy Radford Richards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Pigg; sister, Ardena Atkins; niece and nephews, Paula Sanders, David Sanders, and Jonathan Atkins. Surviving are her son, Robert “Bobby” Maxie; grandsons, Derrick Eugene Maxie and Dustin Gerald Maxie; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois, Diann, Velma (Ronnie); several nieces and nephews, especially Samantha and Dale. A graveside service will be held at Henry Memorial Park.⁴ She was buried at Henry Memorial Park, 8443 Virginia Avenue, Oak Level, Henry Co., Virginia.⁴ She was born on October 21, 1944 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,2,4 As of October 1, 1966,her married name was Maxie.¹ She married Roy Eugene Maxie on October 1, 1966 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.¹ Elizabeth Jeanette Richards and Roy Eugene Maxie were divorced on November 29, 1980 at Craig Co., Virginia.⁶ As of March 29, 1985,her married name was Pigg.¹ Elizabeth Jeanette Richards married Douglas Gerald Pigg, son of Robert Edgar Pigg and Georgia Ethel Webb, on March 29, 1985 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,4,5 Elizabeth Jeanette Richards died on October 25, 2024 at Virginia at age 80.⁴

     Edward Green "Ed" Wagoner Edward Green Wagoner, October 15, 1946 - August 17, 2014. Edward Green “Porter” Wagoner, age 67 of Ferrum passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was born October 15, 1946 the first son of Floyd and Glendola Nichols Wagoner. Ed was a loving caring son, brother, husband and father. Ed was an avid outdoorsman and loved to travel, buy, sell and trade. He never met a stranger and was well liked by most everyone. If you knew him, you have heard “he can sell anything”. He was the owner of Walker’s Grocery on Old Forge Road for many years. He also established and owned Pigg River Trophy Trout where he enjoyed stocking trout for fishermen like himself. He attended Evangelistic House of Prayer where he played bass guitar and was a church trustee. He loved his church family deeply. Preceding him in death were is father, Floyd Wagoner; special grandmothers, Siller Boyd Wagoner and Victoria Bowling; aunts and uncles. Ed is survived by his wife Diann; son Sam, daughter- in-law, Leah; mother Glendola Midkiff, step-father Richard Midkiff; brothers, Leon, Cedric (Deborah), Thurman (Thanhha); sister, Audrey Scott (Anthony) plus aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cherished friends. Interment will follow in Endicott Hill Cemetery.³ He was buried at Endicott Hill Cemetery, Ferrum, Franklin Co., Virginia.³ He was born on October 15, 1946 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^3,4 He married Martha Diann Richards, daughter of Bernice Raymond "Bunn" Richards and Dorothy Gay Radford, on October 1, 1965 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,2,5 Edward Green "Ed" Wagoner died on August 17, 2014 at Virginia at age 67.³

She was a compassionate and caring person who was loved by many. Preceding "Dean" in death were her husband, Jimmy Atkins; her father, Burnice (Bunn) Richards and a nephew, Landon Cockram. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Dale Keith Atkins; daughter, Trish Atkins Midkiff; granddaughter, Mikayla Richards; mother, Dorothy Richards; mother-in-law, Gladys Atkins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Billy Joe Sanders, Jeanette and Douglas Pigg, Diann and Edward Wagoner and Velma and Ronnie Cockram and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members, special friends and co-workers. Graveside services will be conducted at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ferrum. on October 21, 2006.⁶
