Norfolk - Five youths, aged from 12 to 15 burned to death early Sunday morning in a makeshift log cabin in which they were spending the night. Two were brothers. No one escaped from the structure, which fire officials said was engulfed when firemen arrived shortly after 4:30 a.m. A dozen boys had planned to sleep Saturday night in the fortress-like building that two of them put together during the summer on a heavily wooded lot on Nevada Avenue. For various reasons, others changed their minds. The dead were identified by police as James W. Yuhas Jr., 15, of Norfolk; Reuben Edward March Jr., 14 and John Ira March, 13, both of Holland; Jimmy Johnson 12, of Norfolk and Johnny Robert Hill, 14, of Virginia Beach. The victims were friends of long standing. All but the brothers had spent previous nights in the cabin this fall, according to neighborhood acquaintances. The March boys were visiting their mother’s aunt, Mrs. John H. Harmon, whose house is across the street from the lot where they died. on November 9, 1970.3
