Dick was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dee Moore. on July 15, 2003.³

In November 2012, Mario and his wife fulfilled a life-time desire to go to Israel to walk where Jesus walked. Today he is walking with Jesus in heaven for eternity. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 59 years and enjoyed woodworking and bird watching. Mr. Reid is survived by his wife, Lorretta Burger Reid, whom he married June 7, 1952; a son, Robert (Kim) Reid of Manteno; a daughter, Debbie (Francis) Schulte of Reeds Spring, Mo; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Bert Hanson of Brownsville, Texas; and a brother, Edward Reid of Honolulu, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Etta McCoy Reid; and a sister, Peggy Thacker. The funeral was conducted August 17 at Brown Funeral Home in Manteno. The Rev. Jack McCormick officiated. Burial was private. on August 14, 2010.³ He died on August 14, 2010 at Kankakee, Kankakee Co., Illinois, at age 80.^4,3
