Ruby was born on May 3, 1931 in Mercer County, West Virginia to the late, Floyd and Bonnie White Barrett. Ruby had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield, W.Va. and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burton; and one brother, Keith Barrett. Left to cherish her memory two sons, Richard "Buddy" Burton and wife, Shannon of Bluefield, W.Va. and James Burton and wife, Betty of Bluefield, W.Va; three grandchildren, Richard Lee Burton of Bluefield, W.Va., Tiffany Searless of Bluefield, W.Va., and Chance Burton of Bluefield, W.Va; one brother, Charles "C.A." Burton of Woodbridge, Va; and one sister, Shirley Thompson and husband, Charles of Green Valley, W.Va. In accordance with Ruby's wishes she was cremated and burial will follow at a later date. on October 2, 2013.²
