     Roger Dale Gentry Roger Dale Gentry of Weaverville, NC passed away on December 31, 2021, after a battle with lung cancer. Roger was born April 5, 1951, in Marion, VA. In his youth, Roger worked at a sawmill in the mountains outside of Marion, Va. He later joined the United States Army where he served from 1969-1975. After his time in the Army, Roger worked on offshore oil rigs along the coastlines of Virginia and Texas, until he was disabled in 1984. Roger was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Weaverville. He considered the church members there his family. He is survived by his adopted son, Roger Alan Gentry, of Marion, VA; and two granddaughters of Marion, VA.
