Mrs. Amos worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant for six years. She also worked for 18 years at The Broderick Co. from where she retired in 1965. She was one of the earliest residents of Belmont Towers, having moved there 20 years ago this month when it was first opened. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Auxiliary to World War 1 Barracks, and the Senior Center at Belmont Towers. She was a former member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and of the Labette County Medical Center Auxiliary. She had worked as a pink lady at the hospital in past years. Survivors include: a son Donald Beck of Genesco, Ill; two daughters, Rosanna Talbot of Olathe and Virginia Kerley of Parsons; 12 grandchildren, two of whom were reared in her home, Patty Thurlo of Oswego and Cheryl Sonntag of Independence, Mo; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother George Becannon of Salem, Ore; two sisters, Ella McVey of Milwaukie, Ore., and Lois Pennington of Monticello, Minn. Two sisters preceded her in death. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Burcis-Carson-Wall Funeral Home with the Rev. Jean Mane Grabher officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. on September 17, 1990.2
