She was active in the Elkhart Lake Chamber of Commerce, and worked as a secretary for the Road America Corp. until retiring. Survivors include a brother, Harry Likens, of Florida. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Brookside Cemetery, Mazon, Ill. The Rev. Lea Pogemiller, pastor of Mazon United Methodist Church, will officiate. on May 27, 1986.2

After high school she was employed by Joliet Area Ammunitions Plant in Elwood, where she loaded explosives in bombs. She later worked at Northwestern Corporations and Humiston Keeling, both in Morris. On Sept 13, 1947, she married John Charles Gorman in Immaculate Conception Rectory in Morris. All their married life they lived in Morris. She was a member of the First United Church of Morris and was an active campaigner for the John F. Kennedy presidential race in 1960. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and loved dancing and music, especially the children's choir. Surviving are her daughter Diane (Bruce) Meyer of Naperville; a sister Patricia (Van, Deceased) Peterson of Morris and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, a sister, Barbara Jean Bergstrom and a brother, Darwin in infancy. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Morris with the Rev. Diane Gillhan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Reeves Funeral Home in Morris. Pallbearers will be Gary Griffin, Frank and Dale Dunn, Mike Mallaney, Bruce Sklut, Tim Mallaney, Kenny Kastler and Billy Kramer. Robert Phillip Bergstrom Mr. Bergstrom was born on Aug. 11, 1922 in Berwyn, he was the son of Edwin and Marion (Deerey) Bergstrom. Educated in elementary schools in Berwyn and Morris, he was a graduate of Morris High School with the Class of 1939. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. in the European Theater of Operations with the rank of First Lieutenant as a glider pilot with the 85th Troop Carrier Squadron and the 437th Troop Carrier Group. On Nov. 5, 1949 he married Barbara J. Likens at the First United Methodist Church in Morris. He was employed as a union truck driver with Keech Transfer and Valley Trucking Company in Morris. He was also employed by Airco Trucking Company in Joliet, retiring in 1987. He loved the game of golf, dancing, reading and was an avid Morris Redskins Football fan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Morris, John Martin Steele Post #6047 VFW, Morris American Legion Post #294, and Teamsters Local #179 in Joliet. On April 11, 2006, Mr. Bergstrom was recognized by the Grundy County Board for his service to his country during World War II. Survivors include one daughter, Jill (Clifton) Abbott, Glendale, Ariz; two sons, John (Tina) Bergstrom, Mesa, Ariz. and Jeff Bergstrom, Chicago; four grandchildren, Dan Bergstrom, Kristin Bergstrom, Bridgett Fox and Nicole (Allan) Dudding; one brother, Edward Bergstrom, Morton Grove; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife on Sept. 9, 1996.
