Orlando Lee Briant Jr. was buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Durant, Hillsborough Co., Florida.2,5 He was born on January 30, 1914 at Lithia, Hillsborough Co., Florida.2,3,4 He married Elizabeth Louise Elmore, daughter of James William Elmore and Mamie Edith Dean, in January, 1968 at Hernando Co., Florida.1 Orlando Lee Briant Jr. died on September 18, 1978 at Hillsborough Co., Florida, at age 64.2,4,5 He Mr. Orlando Lee "O.L." Briant, Jr., 64, of Lutz, Fla., passed away Monday afternoon. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. from the Seminole Heights Baptist Church, 801 E. Hillsborough Avenue, with the former Pastor Dr. David C. Hall, and the present Pastor Dr. Thomas M. Pinner, Jr. and Associate Pastor Rev. Orrel E. Picklesimer officiating. (Dr. Hall is now Pastor of Mill Park Baptist Church of Portland, Oregon.) Pallbearers will be Alonzo Kelly, John F. Kennedy, Paul Read, James Stokes, Phil Diez and Arthur Partridge. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the F.T. Blount Company Funeral Home, 5101 Nebraska Avenue, Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Mr. Briant will lie in state at the church from 2:00 p.m. until time of services. A native of Lithia, Fla., Mr. Briant had lived in the Tampa Bay area his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Seminole Heights Baptist Church and associated with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad for 28 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise "Peggy" Briant, Lutz; four sons, Rev. Wayne Briant, Portland, Oregon, Steve Briant, Tampa, O. L. Briant, III, and Charles Briant, Haywood, California; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Armstrong, Fremont, California and Mrs. Pat Smith, Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annie V. Sutton, Orlando and Mrs. Joyce Monts De Oca, Tampa. on September 20, 1978.5

Pansy Lee Jewel Elmore was born on February 23, 1944 at Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.2,3 As of May 6, 1967,her married name was Smith.3 She married Arthur Lee "Smitty" Smith on May 6, 1967 at Powhatan, Powhatan Co., Virginia.4,3 Pansy Lee Jewel Elmore died on March 14, 2017 at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co., Virginia, at age 73.4 She SMITH, Pansy Lee Elmore, 73, of Chesterfield, Va., passed away peacefully early Tuesday, March 14, 2017 and is now happily reunited with her husband. Pansy was an incredibly sweet and caring person, loving wife, devoted mother and Gransy to her grandchildren; her family meant everything to her. She was extremely artistic, enjoyed painting and decorated amazing cakes. She's left us all with wonderful memories and stories and will be greatly missed by many. Pansy is survived by her daughter, Michele Lempke and her husband, Ted; son, Jeff Smith; seven grandchildren who call her Gransy Pansy, Joshua Smith, Kyle Smith and his fiancee, Katie Ridgway, Andrew Smith, Casey Bass and her husband, Troy, Melissa Daniel and her husband, Kyle, Jasmine Smith and Cody Smith; two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Bryson Bass; as well as her son-in-law, Jim Sampson; and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith. She is also survived by two brothers, Steve Briant and his wife, Judi and Wayne Briant and his wife, Ruthi. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Arthur Lee "Smitty" Smith; son, Jimi Smith; and daughter, Jackie Sampson. The family will have a private event to celebrate her life and the caring person that she was. on March 16, 2017.4

Arthur Lee "Smitty" Smith was born on April 11, 1934 at Powhatan, Powhatan Co., Virginia.2,3 He married Pansy Lee Jewel Elmore, daughter of Elizabeth Louise Elmore, on May 6, 1967 at Powhatan, Powhatan Co., Virginia.1,4 Arthur Lee "Smitty" Smith died on November 4, 2016 at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co., Virginia, at age 82.3 He SMITH, Arthur Lee "Smitty," 82, of Chesterfield, Va., passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016, surrounded by family. Born and raised in Powhatan, Va., Smitty was an extremely talented mechanic who retired from Wilson Trucking Corporation after 36 years of service. His biggest passion was restoring classic Volkswagen Beetles in his beloved shop. He had a large following of his work and if you see a VW Bug on the road, there's a good chance that he has worked on it. His talents didn't stop with Volkswagens, as there wasn't an engine that he couldn't repair. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping on the James River with his family and friends. He's left us all with amazing memories and stories and will be missed by many. Smitty is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pansy Lee Smith; daughter, Michele Lempke and her husband, Ted; son, Jeff Smith; seven grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Kyle Smith and his fiancee, Katie Ridgway, Andrew Smith, Casey Bass and her husband, Troy, Melissa Daniel and her husband, Kyle, Jasmine Smith and Cody Smith; two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Bryson Bass; as well as his son-in-law, Jim Sampson; and his daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith. He is also survived by two siblings, his brother and favorite fishing partner, Gene Smith and his wife, Minnie; and sister, Dorothy Lowery; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimi Smith; his daughter, Jackie Sampson; and his sisters, Helen Murphy and Alice Mullins. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. on November 7, 2016.3
