"Fannie" Schoolcraft, on January 9, 1946 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.^1,2 Sylvia Jewel Ashworth died on April 14, 2014 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 87.² She Sylvia Jewell Slack, 87, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2014, at CAMC General Hospital after a short illness. She was a very active member in her church, the Church of Christ, Clendenin. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, enjoyed the outdoors, and the love of her life was her family. She formerly worked as a sales clerk at Dalton's Department Store, Clendenin. She was born May 2, 1926, to the late Curb Ashworth and Sarah Florence Adkins Ashworth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John D. Slack, and a daughter, Lana Spears. She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Hendricks; grandchildren, Darren, Paige, Brian, Jeremy and Danielle; and five great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Teel officiating. Burial will follow in Clendenin Memorial Park, Clendenin. on April 15, 2014.²
