     Edward Eugene Blankenship Edward Eugene Blankenship, 89, of Wirtz, gained his wings on January 8, 2021 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Narrows, Virginia to Edward L. and Sallie B. Blankenship. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings and his late wife Lois Blankenship. He is survived by his wife Loretta Blankenship; sons Michael and Donnie (Johniece); 2 step-sons, Barry and Brian Fields; grandchildren, Josh, Angel, Cody, Misty, Linsey, and Dustin; 3 step grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Gene loved the Lord and was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. He was a very loving and caring husband and dearly loved his family. He also loved to travel and never met a stranger. He leaves his widow, Mrs. June White; his father, George White of Empire; his mother, Mrs. Johnsie Francis of Virginia; four children, Donna, George, Charles and David; his paternal grandfather, Samuel White of Steubenville and his grandmother, Mrs. Charles Briggs of Old Washington, Ohio. The body was taken to Clarke Funeral Home in Toronto where funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in Toronto Union Cemetery. on April 25, 1957.¹
