He was the son of the late Arthur "Bud" and Hazel Edith White Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his most treasured and beautiful daughter, Rhonda Gail Woods; and brothers, French O'Brien Ellis and Gary Colin Ellis. Blaine was a graduate of Clendenin High School, class of 1957. He served three years in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. Blaine worked at Pennzoil Elk Rening Plant and several years at Capitol City Auto Auction and Charleston Auto Auction until he retired in 2006. Blaine loved the Lord. He was a Christian and devoted member of The Lift Jesus Higher Full Gospel Church. His body is to be cremated and his ashes spread on his daughter's grave at Sand Run Cemetery, Elkview. Blaine leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Brenda Carson Ellis; and his wonderful and dearly loved grandsons, Dakota Michael Woods and Dylan Jakob Woods of Clendenin. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22, at Lift Jesus Higher Full Gospel Church, 1/4 mile up Jordan Creek Road at Falling Rock. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, Blaine would like donations be given to the Lift Jesus Higher Church. Extra thanks and appreciation are given to his grandson, Dylan Woods, and good friends and neighbors, Mack and Patty Slack, for all they did during his illness. on October 18, 2017.³

Forrest Fields and Dallas Fields, great-granddaughter; Morgan Taylor Ellis. She is survived by daughters; Judy Bergholz (Don) of Stanley, NC, Jeri Carey of Mt. Holly, NC, Jamie Turnage (Robert) of Maiden, NC, sons; Steven Ellis (Debbie) and Michael Ellis both of Stanley, NC, brother; Ralph Fields, sister; Wandalene Connell (Jim), seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg, NC. on April 6, 2012.²
