     Joyce "Joy" Kollmann Joyce (Joy) Reynolds, age 77, passed away in the company of her loving family on February 17, 2015 at her daughter's home in Austin, Texas after a three year struggle with cancer. Joy was born November 1, 1937, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, daughter to Lawrence and Alice Kollmann. Joy's small town heritage and member of a large family of seven fueled her inquisitive spirit to see what lay beyond Kenosha. At 18, she boarded a Miami bound train with a dream to be a flight attendant and career woman. To her dismay she learned her model height made her too tall for the airline industry of that day. While waiting for planes to become "taller," she met the love of her life and ultimate traveling companion, Air Force pilot, John O. Reynolds of Charleston, West Virginia, through mutual friends. A fabulous Air Force lifestyle commenced and they soon had two children: Jaye Prater of Austin, Texas and Mark of Vero Beach, Florida. Many exciting moves within the military satisfied her soul and solidified her passion as an Air Force officer's wife. In 1966, Joy whole heartedly supported a new job and adventure when John joined American Airlines. They welcomed an even more exciting career and lifestyle traveling the globe together and with friends, from their San Diego home of 42 years. Joy held careers in real estate, ticket and travel agent, as well as tour director-her favorite. Besides traveling, Joy enjoyed playing tennis, golf, swimming, sailing, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She loved her church and was an active member of Shadow Mountain Community Church. She had a knack for entertaining and enjoyed hosting events, created beautiful parties, and was part of local committees and fundraisers. Above all, Joy was most passionately committed to the care of her beloved husband of 55 years, children, and six grandchildren: John, Lindsay Georgia, Allison, Matthew, and John, as well as her lifelong dear friends. She will be so missed. She is survived by her brother, Keith of Kenosha, Wisconsin.¹ Her married name was Reynolds.² She married John O.
