     Nancy Jane Johnston Nancy Jane Calvert passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020. She was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County and ran the hardware store in Coal City for 18 years. Nancy was a member of Sunset Hills Missionary Baptist Church and an active member in T.O.P.S. She was a wonderful homemaker and terrific cook who served everyone she could her entire life. She will greatly missed by Paul and Amy, Debra Dean and countless friends. She was the sweetest soul anyone ever knew. She was born on September 22, 1942 to the late Charles "Charlie" Lee Johnston and Audrey Christine Lilly-Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Gary Curtiss Calvert, who also passed away on May 24, 2020; her son, Mark Curtiss Calvert; her brothers, Oris Lee Johnston, Ira James "Butch" Johnston, and Lloyd Delmas Johnston; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jethro "Jake" Buchannon Calvert and Virginia A. Meadows-Calvert. She is survived by her son, Paul Eric Calvert; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her sister, Myra Johnston-Sherriff; and brother, Ray Johnston.² Her married name was Calvert.¹ She married Gary Curtiss Calvert, son of Jethro Buchannon Calvert and Virginia Arista Meadows.^1,2 Nancy Jane Johnston was born on September 22, 1942.² She died on May 24, 2020 at Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 77.^1,2

     Mark Curtiss Calvert was buried at Ben Meadows Cemetery, Mitchell's Ridge, Princewick, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^6,3 His Social Security Number was 235-11-1588.⁷ He was born on July 28, 1962 at Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan.^3,8,7,4,5 He married Debra Lynn Adkins on June 19, 1981 at Alexandria, Virginia.^6,4 Mark Curtiss Calvert died on September 20, 1990 at Durham, Durham Co., North Carolina, at age 28.^6,3,8,7 He Mark Curtis Calvert, 28, of Beckley, formerly of Coal City, died Sept. 20, 1990. He was a self-employed contractor and attended Sunset Hills Missionary Baptist Church, Coal City. He was a 1981 graduate of Independence High School. He was owner of Calvert Construction. Surviving: wife, Debra Adkins Calvert of Beckley; son, Aaron Christopher at home; parents, Gary and Nancy Johnston Calvert of Coal City; maternal grandmother, Audrey Johnston of Coal City; paternal grandfather, Jake Calvert of Princewick; brother, Paul Eric of Huntsville, Ala. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Prosperity, with the Rev. Robert Dean officiating. Burial will be in Meadows Cemetery, Princewick. on September 22, 1990.⁶
