He was a lifelong resident of Sissonville. Surviving: wife, Alva Hughart Shaffer; sons, Timmy and Lannie, of Sissonville, Kevin at home, Randy of Newport News, Va; daughter, Rita J. Booth of Charleston; brothers, Archie of Sissonville, Dorsel of Pocatalico, Guy of Amma, Albert of Fayetteville, N.C; sisters, Fay Baldwin and Nellie Range, of Sissonville, Gail Dillon of Dunbar, Emogene Hall of Marmet, Hallie Myers of Melbourne, Fla; 15 grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with military rites. on December 27, 1992.3
