He retired from the West Allegheny School District and previous to that he has worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He enjoyed shooting pool, singing and dancing and swimming. He is survived by two sons: William G. Dixon of Bakersfield, CA and John G. Wands of Pittsburgh, PA; four daughters: E. Dana Shope of New Kensington, PA, Cynthia Hinderliter of Valier, PA, Aurelia Clepper of DuBois and Cheryl Kirk of Houston, TX; fourteen grandchildren twenty one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
