Born August 25, 1951, in Sun, WV, he was the son of Elsie Petro Parker and the late Delbert Parker. A faithful servant of God, Jessie had pastored the First Assembly of God in Mount Hope for 23 years. He was a US Army veteran. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Helen Athlene Walker Parker; and sister, Evelyn Forsythe. A loving and devoted family are left to cherish his memory and include his mother, Elsie; wife, Margaret Goodson Parker; children, Tiffany Cottle (James), Jessie Parker, Jr. (Norma Kay), Jimmy Parker (Leslie Nicole), and Ralph D. Phillips (Sara); siblings; Judy Mendenhall (JR), Peggy Meador (Sam), Janice Woodell (Jim), Debra Kincaid, Goldie Parker, Delbert Ray Parker, Jr, and Neil Parker (Sharon); eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends and his beloved church family. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Prosperity with military graveside rites.2 He married Helen Athelene Walker, daughter of Alfred Shirley Walker and Mildred Marie Cox.1,2 Jessie Oliver Parker was born on August 25, 1951 at Sun, Fayette Co., West Virginia.2 He died on May 2, 2021 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 69.2

The defendant was identified by Sgt. R.D. Tingler of the Alleghany Sheriff's Department as Norman Herbert Goldberg, an employee of the C&0 Railway. He also was charged with the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The victim was identified by Tingler as Billy Ray Poole Sr., 45. Poole was shot once in the head with a 9mm automatic pistol, Tingler said, and was dead on arrival at Alleghany Regional Hospital, where he was taken by the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad. Tingler said the shooting occurred about 2 a.m. Friday outside a house in Iron Gate during a dispute between the two men. Tingler would not release any details because he said the incident was still being investigated by his department, the state police and Iron Gate police. A preliminary hearing has been set for April 29 in Alleghany County General District Court. Goldberg was put in the Alleghany County jail but was released on bond later Friday. Investigating the case are Tingler, D.L. Cale and Harry of the Alleghany Sheriff's Department, V.C. Jones of the state police and R.P. Faidley, Iron Gate town sergeant. on April 10, 1982.6

He was born on February 17, 1938 at home in Page, WV to Herman Houston Eads and Maggie Ruth Clifton Eads. Howard was a professional painter, owning his own business in Grove City, OH and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Beckwith Apostolic Church in Beckwith, WV and Pathway Apostolic Church in Columbus, OH. Howard loved yard selling, spending countless hours buying and selling items, but he especially loved spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents Howard was preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Sheila Eads, his only sister Carrie Elizabeth King and twin brothers Jim and Jimmy Eads and brothers Don Ted Eads, Robert Lee "PeeWee" Eads and James Edward Eads. Those left to cherish his memory include brother Sam J. Eads, Sam's wife Robin and their sons, Samuel R. Eads and Silas G. Eads of Oak Hill; brother Everett C. Eads, wife Jean and their children Krista Devauld, Shane Eads and Everett Jr. all of VA. Howard's step family includes Dewayne Martin with wife Brenda and their children Dewayne Jr., Amy and Ashlie; Steve Martin and children Chrstina, Steve Jr. and Miranda; Helen Hirta, her husband John and children John John and Tina Hirt; David Grimmett and his children Lindsay, Tyler, Kayla and Eddie; Bonnie Upton and husband Bert with their children Greg, Stephanie, Stacy and Ryan Hodges along with a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and good friend Jim Armentrout, all from OH.
