Brechtel, 63, of 217 Welsh Street, Kane, died Friday morning, December 3, 2010 at the Kane Community Hospital after being stricken at home. Born September 19, 1947 in Ridgway, he was the son of Arthur and Lucille Rezmerski Brechtel. On February 8, 1975 in Kane, he married Sherry L. Stewart, who survives. Mr. Brechtel worked in the lab at Stackpole Corp. in St. Marys for over 20 years.
He attended St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane, and was a fireman for 47 years in Kane and Wilcox, having served as chief for the latter. He also belonged to the Central District Firemen. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Molly Ann Brechtel of Erie and a daughter-in-law, Tiffanie Brechtel of Kane. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a son, Arthur T. Brechtel in 2008. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Callistus Catholic Church at 11:00 on Wednesday with the rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as Celebrant. Brechtel, 33, of 215 Dawson Street, Kane, died Thursday, October 30, 2008, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh after a year-long battle with leukemia. Born June 27, 1975, in Ridgway, he is the son of Timothy A. and Sherry L. Stewart Brechtel. On October 14, 2006, in Kane, he married Tiffanie L. Hetrick, who survives. A 1993 graduate of Johnsonburg High School, he then attended Gannon University in Erie, and later worked at Temple Inland MDF in Mt. Jewett as an operator and back-up supervisor. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kane. He joined the Kane Volunteer Fire Department in 1997 and became very active, currently serving as its chief . He also was a Pennsylvania State Fire Instructor, an EMT, and belonged to the Tri-County Firemen's Association and the Central District Firemen's Association. Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents of Kane, are a sister, Molly Brechtel of Erie; a niece and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Lucille Brechtel and Thomas and Betty Stewart. Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Kane with the Rev. David Lake, pastor, officiating, and Father Philip Pinczewski, pastor of St. Callistus Catholic Church and the fire department's chaplain, co-officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Rassellas. on November 1, 2008.2

Robert Cupp and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman S. Hulings, all of Mt. Jewett; her maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. W. P. Zink of Kane and her maternal great-grandfather, Dr. A. F. Cupp of Aspinwall. Friends may call at the Gwin Funeral Home at Mt. Jewett at the usual visiting hours, 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 o'clock, beginning this evening. Memorial services will be held at Gwin's Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, with the Rev. G. Mason Crites of the Mt. Jewett Methodist Church officiating. Smithfield, Pa passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ron Ayers in Magnolia, TX. Janice was born on November 27, 1935 in Kane, Pa a daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Broman) Hulings. Janice was an active member of the E. Smithfield United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens club who she entertained with her talent of beautiful music, by playing the piano. She was a self-taught pianist and could play by ear ~ having had not one lesson. She was a retired employee of GTE – Sylvania, Towanda following 28 years of service. She enjoyed her home, family and spending time with her faithful canine companion, Bridget. Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, “nanny” as she was known by many of the grandchildren will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Ron Ayers of Magnolia, TX; her son and daughter-in-law: Stephen and Mary Steele of St. Mary’s PA; her special grandchildren: Amy and Tim Hoke of Nichols; Jamie and Bobbi Ayers of Rome, Pa; Stacy and Paul Slatter of Magnolia, TX; Ashley Ayers and Todd Fox of Rome, PA; TJ and Ashley Steele of St. Mary’s, Pa; Stephen A.
