Nancy had many hobbies including reading, crocheting, baking and cooking. She was also an avid gardener and took great pride in her flowers. She loved watching birds and always made sure to keep her feeders full. She especially enjoyed attracting hummingbirds. Nancy loved animals, especially cats, a trait she passed on to her children. She was a diehard fan of both the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers. She was an active member of Family of Faith United Methodist Church (formerly Church of the Master UM) where she put in many volunteer hours heading up the free lunch program for over 25 years. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert L; parents, James E. and Mary Iva (Cash) Purtiman; brother, James (Helen) Purtiman; and nephew, James A. Purtiman.      Frederick Arnold "Fred" Cunningham was born on November 6, 1922 at Akron, Summit Co., Ohio.^3,4 He married Louise R. Boyek on February 24, 1945 at Summit Co., Ohio.^3,4 Frederick Arnold "Fred" Cunningham died on July 26, 2015 at Topeka, Shawnee Co., Kansas, at age 92.⁴ He Fred Arnold Cunningham, 92, Topeka, died peacefully at home, in the arms of his loving wife Louise, on Sunday, July 26, 2015. They had just celebrated their 70th anniversary in February. Fred was born in Akron, Ohio on Nov. 6, 1922. He was the son of Fred R. & Lora Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham joined the Marines during WWII and served in the Pacific theatre for 21 months, which included the Bougainville and Pelilu campaigns. Hundreds of letters flowed between Fred and Louise while he was overseas. After his return from the Pacific, they were married on Feb. 24th, 1945. After leaving the Marines, Fred started working for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio. He retired after 39 years of service, in Topeka, as a Dept. Foreman. After retiring, Fred loved to feed the deer, turkeys, squirrels, possums, and other wildlife that ventured daily into his large backyard, knowing that a friendly man would welcome them. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a life member and 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Topeka, Orient of Kansas and Adonira-Joppa Masonic Lodge No. 0517 A.F. & A.M., Akron, OH. Fred is survived by his wife Louise, son Fred (Karen), Tulsa Ok, son Ray (Joyce), Akron, Ohio, and daughter Barbara (Jeff) Koci, Topeka. His son Randy preceded him in death as did his 8 siblings all, Akron, Oh. In addition, Fred is survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren whom he loved. Bailey, 70, of Tallmadge, passed away Saturday, July 5, 1997. He was born February 3, 1927, in Akron, the son of George and Genieve Benyko. Mr. Bailey was in the real estate business for 40 years and owned Bailey & Harvey Realty for 20 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Joppa Lodge 666 F&AM, and was also a member of The Chapel. Mr. Bailey had many hobbies and received his license in aviation and was an avid golfer. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Helen Bailey; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Del Raichart; sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald Bailey, Brad and Lori Bailey; grandchildren, Jay Grasmick, Justin Bailey, Jason Bailey and Cherish Bailey. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Bertha Sheets and his parents. Private services will be at the convenience of the family. on July 7, 1997.⁶

Cunningham, 47, died Oct. 27 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born in Akron, and lived the last 11 years in Munroe Falls. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, and worked for 23 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., prior to owning and operating Fiesta Pizza & Chicken in Cuyahoga Falls. He was preceded in death by parents; and brother, William. He is survived by wife, Jane; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Mark Cottrill of Cuyahoga Falls, Christine and Tom Hauser of Stow; son, David William; daughter, Amy, both of the residence; grandson, Mark David Cottrill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Harry Lorenz of Akron, Dorothy and Russell Pfautz of Akron, Helen and Harry Bailey of Tallmadge; sister, Mary Jean Selby of Akron; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Louise Cunningham of Topeka, Kan., Robert and Nancy Cunningham of Akron; brother, Richard Cunningham of Tallmadge; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 57 E. State St., Monday, 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. on October 30, 1988.³
