She was born September 2, 1893 [1894], in Ambrose, Indiana County, a daughter of Scott and Margaret Lukehart McGaughey. In 1916 she married William E. Slicker. In 1936 she married Edward F. Whisner, who died in 1967. Mrs. Whisner, a housewife, was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, Eugene L. Slicker of Ravenna, Ohio, Bernard M. Slicker of Hobart, Ind. and Donald M. Slicker of New Castle; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Orvil Whisner of New Jersey and William Whisner of Shippenville RD; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Harold (Twila) Gilford of Lickingville; six step grandchildren and one step great granddaughter. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one daughter. Friends may call at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion, where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. George Crooks, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Clarion, officiating. Interment will be in Star cemetery. on March 15, 1973.1

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Baker of Owasso, OK; 5 sons, Charles Dunlap and his wife Mary of Silsbee, TX; Lee Edward Black and his wife Jaquelin of Houston, TX; Francis Black of Lexington, KY; Glen Black and his wife Grace of Albion; and T.J. Black and his wife Cindy of Conneaut, OH; a step-daughter, Judith Ridle of Meadville; 2 stepsons, William R. Byham and his wife Marsha of Guys Mills and John F. Byham and his wife Mary Ann of Meadville; a brother, Leroy Dunlap and his wife Lucy of El Paso, TX; a sister, Frances Brooks of Albion; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Henry Allan Smith; 3 brothers, Allan, Harry, and Edward Dunlap; and 2 sisters, Gladys Carr and Lee Wolfe. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
