Also surviving are four brothers James Ciardi and his wife Jane of Rockaway, Robert Ciardi and his wife Helen of Rockaway, Ernest Ciardi and his wife Kathy, and John Ciardi all of South Carolina; and his sister Marie Stiles and her husband Bill also of South Carolina. on February 4, 2009.³

He was 77. Born in Rockaway to the late Paquale and Mildred Ciardi, he was a lifelong resident. Ciardi was the owner of S.R. Ciardi Mason Contracting in Rockaway for 30 years, and a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 37 of Dover for 50 years. Ciardi is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Helen; two daughters, Anne Marie Ciardi-McClain, of Rockaway, and Robin Ciardi-Winstead and husband, Rick, of Denville; son, Samuel Robert Ciardi Jr., of Rockaway Twp; sister, Marie Stiles, of South Carolina; and three brothers, James (and Jane) of Rockaway, Ernest (and Kathy) and John, all of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Anna Savage, of Mendham; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Sarah, Stephanie, Amie, Kaitlyn, Mia and Ben; and four great-grand-children, Luke, Mason, Penelope and Eva. He was predeceased by his brother, Pat Ciardi. on February 3, 2016.⁴
